About the role - 2 year contract

This is a rare opportunity for a talented Software Developer to join the team responsible for developing our customer facing online banking solution. We’re a full-stack team, owning the front-end and back-end, and we’re empowered to make and own our technical decisions. You’ll be working alongside other software developers and testers with excellent access to dedicated business experts, and using the latest tooling and technology under agile software development methodology.

As a Developer in the Online Banking team you will need to:

  • Work in a team environment to deliver cutting edge software applications
  • Adhere to design principles that provide robust solutions
  • Perform peer code reviews
  • Liaise with internal customers, vendors, database admins, and system engineers
  • Actively participate in production support
  • Undertake system and application testing

What we’re looking for

To be successful in this role, you will ideally demonstrate:

  • Commercial software development experience of 3-4 years at a minimum
  • Experience developing back-end services in C#, with RESTful web APIs,
  • Experience developing front-end applications for the modern web; we use React and Typescript
  • An understanding of database technologies, such as SQL Server
  • Experience in CI/CD practices; we use GitLab and Octopus Deploy
  • Strong focus on prudent software development practices, automated testing, and automated deployment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Sound understanding of change management processes
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail

In addition, the successful candidate will be experienced in working on large scale development projects in a team environment and have the ability to work closely with end users, Business Analysts, Project Managers and Helpdesk/Support personnel on a daily basis.
