Job Description

The role

Ultimate responsibility and accountability for ensuring the delivery of retention, new from existing and new/new sales targets, in a compliant and ethical manner. Will manage and develop client and team relationships and grow portfolio within the business unit and will be responsible for targeting and converting prospects. Also responsible for the programme design and placement of specific facultative business into the relevant reinsurance market.
To engage and work closely with the wider Willis Towers Watson network to maximise opportunities across all business lines from current and prospective client list.
Client Relationship Management
  • Understand the clients’ business and their facultative reinsurance needs 
  • Identify primary budget holders and decision makers within clients
  • Provide technical, industry and subject matter expertise
  • Draw on appropriate expertise within the BU or Group for clients
  • Liaise with clients and build strong relationships
  • Determine appropriate solutions, structure, price and placement strategies 
  • Grow existing portfolio
Business Development
  • Actively drive the sales process
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospects including research, initiation of contact, meetings, responding to RFPs, new business presentations, accurately maintaining GSV in order to create and convert sales opportunities
  • Actively identify opportunities to work with colleagues across the business 
Placement Management
  • Deliver optimisation of revenue from new and existing clients 
  • Work closely and maintain strong working relationships with the team and market contacts as required
  • Ensure compliant processing of contracts as per FCA 
  • Ensure accurate loading of data in to the core broking system 
  • Design programme and pricing structures 
Operational and Service Delivery
  • Deliver the highest levels of client service 
  • Proactively develop appropriate solutions and proposals for clients to ensure optimum client retention rates
  • Communicate effectively with clients, associates, markets and others 
  • Ensure adherence to Group policies, procedures and all regulatory requirements
  • Provide feedback on corrective action required to retain clients or enhance process performance
Account Management
  • Ability to understand a client or prospect’s business, situations, opportunities, problems and key issues
  • Ability to manage relationships and manage the placement process
  • Prepare client and prospect presentations considering the impact of client profitability
  • Support relationships with international and London based underwriters
  • Experience in pricing and designing programmes
  • Participate in information gathering exercises
  • Ensure compliance with Willis Towers Watson guidelines and procedures.
  • A thorough understanding and an expert real time user for all relevant systems including WillPlace


The requirements

  • Educated to a degree level or relevant industry experience
  • Preferably with professional qualifications of ACII or similar
  • Proven track record of delivering high levels of client service
  • Strong practical knowledge of strategic account development and appropriate tools to achieve this aim
  • Experienced knowledge of insurance and reinsurance markets globally in order to deal effectively with client needs
  • Knowledge of Willis Towers Watson products and services and how these compare to competitor offerings
  • Skilled at building effective relationships, at all levels, with clients, prospects, associates, insurers and external specialists
  • Ability to represent Willis Towers Watson with integrity and credibility
  • Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Collaborative approach to working with colleagues
  • Experience of working with and adhering to processes and systems to support client service delivery
