Job Description

This Press Office is fast paced, exciting and unpredictable. You’ll be on the front line for this major client dealing with queries from journalists from all the major news outlets in the UK. You will lead a team of media relations experts and provide senior counsel to our clients/ If it’s a press office role you’re looking for it doesn’t get more high profile than this!

The role also includes leading our autonomous vehicle account, Meridian. Meridian was created by government and industry to coordinate a national platform for testing and development of connected and autonomous vehicles and directs £200 million in investment. In your role as Account Director you will be providing media relations counsel to Meridian’s senior leaders while liaising with stakeholders from the Department for Transport.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Dealing with incoming journalist queries, working with the team to ensure they are answered in a timely and professional manner
  • Media relations strategy and client counsel
  • Building relationships with key journalists
  • Media and social media monitoring and reporting
  • Coming up with proactive media relations strategies to sell-in stories
  • Work closely with the team to ensure we are protecting the brand and telling great creator stories


Requirements

The ideal candidate will have

  • Experience leading a busy press office for a large brand or working as a journalist
  • Experience leading teams and working to tight deadlines
  • Excellent media relations knowledge and journalist contacts
  • Have a level head and clam under pressure
  • Dealing with incoming journalist queries, working with the Google team to ensure they are answered in a timely and professional manner
  • Media relations strategy and client counsel
  • Building relationships with key journalists
  • Media and social media monitoring and reporting
  • Coming up with proactive media relations strategies to sell-in Google stories
  • Work closely with the YouTube team to ensure we are protecting the brand and telling great creator stories
