As leaders in geospatial services & remote sensing, the Commercial team at Quantum Spatial provides full service innovative solutions that help our clients in Electric Utilities, Renewable Energy, Oil&Gas, Telcom, Rail, and other commercial markets meet their business goals. We do this by understanding our clients’ business problems, and then applying the right combinations of data acquisition, analytics, software, and integration to help reduce risk, control costs, and meet objectives. We are seeking a talented professional who thrives in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about technology innovations and composing solutions that solve clients’ needs from a suite of geospatial and remote sensing capabilities. The ideal candidate is also well-versed in content development and should bring expertise distilling technical solutions into understandable & differentiable value. In this role, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to advance new ideas and strategies on how to scale by promoting our solutions across existing and adjacent new markets, driving campaigns in partnership with our marketing and innovation teams, and finding new ways to position existing and new solutions across Commercial markets.

  • Close new bookings in target growth markets as defined by the Commercial BU leadership by positioning existing and new products & solutions into these markets.
  • Validate market-fit, and to prove-out relevance in these new markets by engaging with clients, capture needs, and bring feedback back to the teams. Speak at industry conferences and events, propose new solutions that may require slight modifications to our core offerings to establish and validate growth paths.
  • Develop technical content in collaboration with marketing to drive campaigns and messaging around existing and new solutions including definition of the value proposition, differentiation, and target market for each solution.
  • Act as the internal liaison between Sales, Innovation & Development, Marketing, Software Development, and other departments to ensure that new solutions have an executable go-to-market path.
  • Drive new lead generation as the champion and driver of sales campaigns, launch, and follow-up, where each campaign is specifically aligned with the Commercial growth strategy. You would define the “what & why”, then collaborate with our Marketing team where they drive the “how, when, and where”
  • Demonstrate a thoughtful understanding of insightful industry knowledge and how geospatial and remote sensing technologies apply to initiatives and trends
  • Develop & deliver business case presentations to senior audiences including executive suite.
  • Effectively utilize and leverage the company’s CRM to manage opportunities and drive the buying process
  • Work closely with portfolio/program managers regarding products and develop an understanding of internal processes/factors/challenges that are keys to establishing client scope and adherence to deadlines.
  • Participate in trade shows, workshops, and seminars (as required)
  • Support visual story telling through effective whiteboard sessions
  • Be resourceful and take initiative to resolve issues

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Willingness to travel and work extended hours

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, engineering or a geospatial field (e.g., remote sensing, GIS, photogrammetry, etc.)
  • Three or more years of experience providing geospatial data or technology solutions to clients in the Electric Utility, Energy, &/or other commercial sectors.
  • Understanding of remote sensing data acquisition technologies, enterprise-level GIS platforms, geospatial applications development, integrated geospatial solutions, and how they relate to Utilities
  • A strategic thinker with executive presence and ability to engage within the C-suite
  • Technical writing experience and the ability to adapt to new technology trends and translate them into solutions that address client needs
  • Demonstrated experience with strong partnerships and advocacy with clients
  • Excellent presentation, white boarding, and negotiation skills including good listening, probing, and qualification abilities
  • Demonstrated understanding and mitigation of competitive threats
  • Ability to manage and prioritize activities
  • Knowledge of the Utility finances, budgeting, and procurement cycles
  • Highly motivated team player with a mature, positive attitude and passion to meet the challenges and opportunities of a business
  • Ability to frequently travel domestically (and possibly internationally)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing large projects and/or initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience with leading high-level/executive engagements
