Purpose/Mission of the job:

This job is responsible for promoting and selling a variety of flavors to major or key accounts and distributors, as well as grow sales profitability and build long term client relationships

Job Responsibility:

  • Participate in developing sales strategies to satisfy business plan objectives, as well as to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Document sales calls, interpret briefs, and communicate that information to the respective division, to the marketing and technical functions to ensure open communication so that customer requirements are appropriately communicated and satisfied.
  • Provide clients with general and specific information regarding product line concepts.
    Keep abreast of competitive activities, prices, and new business opportunities.
  • Ensures that administrative functions such as forecasts and call reports, etc., are accurately maintained.
  • Provide ongoing customer services and follow-up to ensure the timely shipment of orders.
  • Identifying prospective clients, generating business from the existing clients and thereby achieving business targets & profitability.
  • Channel Management: Implementing corporate guidelines at dealers to maximize sales and accomplish revenue and growth targets.
  • Relationship Management: Maintaining healthy & cordial relationship with the clients for expanding business & resolving the queries & complaints resulting in high customer satisfaction.
  • Team Management:   Providing direction, motivation & training to the distributor sales team for ensuring optimum performance. Training the team & ensuring adherence to the norms; reviewing monthly performance of sales team.

Key Interaction:

External customers, Application Team, Marketing, Flavorists & Commercial Director

Education Level:

  • Typically requires Bachelor's degree in food technology or food science.
  • PG in Business Administration will be an added advantage

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of sales experience, preferably in  FMCG, Flavour & Fragrances, and Chemical/Ingredients
  • Proficient in key account management and handling dealers & distribution sales team.
  • Ability to deal with basic financial processes, pricing/margin/forecasting, sales/commercial contract and work with IT systems. 
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization with multiple stakeholders across divisions.
  • Passion in flavors with willingness to travel extensively and to meet clients on a regular basis.
  • Strong negotiation skills, Proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point.
