About the role:

In this position, you will be responsible for managing academic accounts in Australia and New Zealand with a focus on achieving and exceeding annual sales targets of online information products, and research workflow tools for the Elsevier Research Solutions Sales team.

As part of a dedicated Research Sales Solutions team, the Account Manager is responsible for achieving overall revenue in renewal and new based sales from academic/university accounts.


Based in our Sydney head office and reporting to the ANZ Regional Account Director, you will achieve this by:

  • Regular market visits, as you build sustainable relationships with C-level stakeholders librarian and university influencers, decision makers and end users
  • Strategizing and planning for current requirements while constantly monitoring market conditions and competitor offerings
  • Translate client requirements into realistic opportunities, and formulate market focused strategies to meet these needs
  • As part of the broader sales team, contribute to the development of sales strategies for the ANZ region

To be considered for this role you will need to possess:

  • A University degree
  • 5-10 years of sales and medium to large account management experience with online, e-products or subscription-based business models.
  • Publishing or research workflow tools industry experience is advantageous but not essential
  • Experience in research and development labs/offices at a university or government institution desired but not essential
  • Must be very proficient with MS Office – in particular, Excel, Word, Powerpoint
  • Training and experience in using Sales with a major sales process methodology
  • CRM or Saleforce.com experience in managing pipeline, forecasting, sales stage advancement, analytic and reporting skills.
