Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Hotel Accountant to join our Finance team based in the Company’s Head Office at Robina. Reporting directly to the Club Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the accounting and reporting for a number of resort properties, as well as Corporate and centralised services.

In this role you will be responsible for establishing processes and procedures, improving efficiencies, ensuring compliance requirements are met and the appropriate controls are in place.

Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Provide assistance to Accounts Payable Clerk ensuring accurate processing and payment of invoices within required timeframes
  • Reconciling general ledger accounts including bank reconciliation
  • Recording and analysis of revenues and expenses to the Balance Sheet and completing Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Performing month end and year end accounting processes
  • Maintaining hotel receivable ledgers and issue invoices for hotel accommodation receivables
  • Performing revenue audits
  • Assisting in preparation of GST returns for Australia and New Zealand
  • Providing analytical support for new hotel initiatives

You will have:

  • Qualifications as CA/ CPA Qualified Accountant or equivalent industry experience preferred
  • Proficiency in management of financial systems and budgets, financial reporting and data analysis
  • Experience working within an accounting environment within the Hotel or similar industry
  • Proven understanding of Accounts Payable and Receivable functions
  • Proven time management skills and experience working effectively to deadlines
  • Good to advanced skills in Microsoft Office. Experience in Sun Systems and online purchase order system would be well regarded
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
