We have an opportunity for an Account Executive who will have full responsibility of sales execution for a key banking account. The role reports into the Sales Director for Financial Services. This role is based in our Tervuren Office (BE).

In addition, rising pressure from disruptive fintechs and global tech giants expanding into financial markets have banks turning toward technology to stay competitive.

  • Analyze and understand customer needs and expectations in order to enhance the customer experience.

  • Establish a unified, agile end-to-end platform that enables fast big data analysis for improving the customer experience and producing real business value.
  • Make analytics available to everyone so every team member can apply analytical techniques to daily work.

What you’ll do

In this role you will be working with a key client within the Banking industry where you will lead, drive and orchestrate the entire sales process. You are the commercial driver and relationship manager towards the customer. You will have the full responsibility for SAS Institute’s value proposition with this customer, managing strategic and tactical governance, co-operating closely with key stakeholders to improve and optimize current business as well as identifying and prioritizing new opportunities.

You will:

  • Sell SAS solutions! Some examples:
    • Software as a service (SaaS). Our managed SaaS offerings are ready to use out of the box and are customizable to meet changing requirements. We also provide standardized, off-the-shelf SaaS offerings available for immediate use, with no customization. We combine expert SAS service with award-winning software to help develop more powerful insights into fraud detection and prevention, customer experience, bank operations and more.
    • Managed application services. Take advantage of cutting-edge SAS technology with maximum uptime, managed by us on customer site or ours.
    • SAS software deployed in public or private clouds. We offer multiple ways to deploy SAS in public or private clouds, including deployment patterns like Docker containers, Kubernetes for orchestration or support for Cloud Foundry.SAS works with major cloud infrastructure providers like Microsoft, Amazon, Google and Oracle to streamline SAS deployments in public clouds. We also partner with a number of managed analytic service providers (MASPs) that offer cloud-based solutions for specific industries, including banking.
  • You’ll be the primary contact for a large banking account. For this you are able to create relationships across the different departments and seniority levels at client site.
  • Stay ahead of the curve – you’ll need to know SAS’ marketing goals and objectives, SAS applications, supported hardware platforms, business trends and industry knowledge
  • Understand SAS’ pricing, licensing procedures.
  • Work with other sales professionals and executives to react quickly to highly qualified, high revenue potential leads.
  • Prepare quotes and proposal information, and work with other departments to create and finalize contracts and set delivery schedules.
  • Provide a superior customer experience – we go the extra mile for our customers – and track customer satisfaction.
  • Link all SAS offerings to one combined offering. For this you stay on top of our full solution portfolio (AI & Machine Learning, Cloud, Fraud & Security Intelligence, Risk Management, …)

What we’re looking for

We are looking for individuals who have significant, demonstrated experience within Software Sales and Relationship Management. Previous experience within the banking sector is a must and will make sure you have a flying start with us. Ideal applicants will be enthusiastic about helping our customer cope with demanding challenges and turn them into mutually rewarding opportunities. You must be highly motivated, a self-starter, articulate and able to contribute to transformation projects.

Most important attributes are:

  • Experienced within Sales and Relation Management. Comfortable to take a clear leadership role throughout the complex sales cycle, from establishing a relationship and discovering an opportunity, via proving value and negotiating business terms, all the way through to delivering the value we promised.
  • Skilled at understanding people’s needs and priorities. Eager to help people reach their goals while also confident enough to challenge when required.
  • Knowledge of the banking sector and an understanding of challenges and problems to be expected in the digital transformation of the industry is a must.
  • Sales experience of a managed services offering which include infrastructure, software, and consulting services working for IaaS or PaaS provider. To become successful, you should have an insight into the mechanics of how organizations can get the best out of their IT solutions. An understanding of change management and how complex projects are procured, including implementation and delivery would be extremely beneficial.
  • You must be a high caliber sales executive who can build trust and rapport and who has a proven track record of successful software sales.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills combining Dutch, French and English.
