The Position

St John of God Social Outreach (WA) are currently seeking an Administration Officer to join the Community Mental Health Team. As an Administration Officer, you will provide high quality administrative and clerical support to the Community Mental Health Service. This includes providing a welcoming environment for clients, their families and their carers who attend the service and supporting Community Mental Health Service caregivers with administrative and clerical tasks.

Key functions of this position will be to optimise the operations of the Community Mental Health Service by ensuring that all appointment management, accounting, billing, reception tasks, computer data entry and reporting and other administrative functions are carried out in a professional manner.

This opportunity will be offered on a Permanent Full Time Basis working 76 hours per fortnight.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.
  • Substantial experience in reception and office administration.
  • Understanding of systems and processes used for managing client information, including appointments, billing and data collection.
  • Advanced computer skills including a proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to produce high quality letters, reports and presentations.
  • Capacity to learn and implement emerging office technologies and procedures.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills – ability to communicate effectively with clients, caregivers and other stakeholders.
  • Highly proficient written communication and efficient organisational skills. 
  • Capacity to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to take initiative and work autonomously.
