About the role:

Reporting directly into the Head of Agribusiness, you will be responsible for managing a growing portfolio of agribusiness customers. Covering a range of small and medium-sized agribusiness enterprises, the industry spread will be focused on Cropping (irrigated and dryland), Beef & Poultry. Please note this is a 12 month maximum term contract.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing a marketing and business plan to drive portfolio growth
  • Networking and liaising with customers to optimise and maintain relationships and promote retention
  • Identifying new business and referral opportunities while assessing the economic value and risk potential
  • Analysing the growth, service, credit quality, MFI, ROI and expense results for the portfolio
  • Working closely with your customers to educate them on their options by providing quality advice on risk and growth opportunities
  • Adhering to audit and compliance objectives and corporate policies and procedures while complying with industry codes of practice
  • Contributing to continuous improvement activity within the region
  • Maximising the visibility of the BOQ Agribusiness brand throughout the region by actively promoting the organisation at a range of external agricultural events.

On top of this, you will also be responsible for providing feedback to your leader on agribusiness issues in your region.

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • Tertiary qualifications in agribusiness or a similar discipline
  • Proven experience in a relationship management role where you have been responsible for successfully managing and growing a portfolio of agribusiness customers
  • Demonstrated experience of business banking products and processes
  • A strong understanding of and passion for the agricultural industry in Queensland
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to recognise and implement business strategies to drive profitable growth, customer acquisition and customer experience
  • Ability to understand and interpret financial information
  • Confidence in your knowledge of credit and responsible lending practices and legislative requirements
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and communicate with a range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Outcome orientated with a customer centric mindset.

There is the flexibility for this role to be based in Brisbane but regular travel to Toowoomba would be required.
