Your responsibilities:
Regular Analysis Projects
Identify inefficient and underloaded transport activities and trips and initiate supply chain and commercial actions to correct.
Analyse ways to increase vehicle utilisation.
Define the optimum distribution mode of supply across Liquid Bulk, CryoEase and Packaged Gases.
Define optimal telemetry strategy for Liquid Bulk and CryoEase.
Create the guiding policy for optimal Liquid Bulk tank sizing given customer density, tank maintenance and investment and Liquid Bulk transport costs.
Provide analytical support for Customer Engineering.
Optimise the PG Interdistrict network balancing transport and inventory costs as well as production costs and investments.
Define the most efficient agent replenishment strategy balancing transport and inventory holding costs as well as demand levelling.
Determine the delivery zones of PG depots and redistribution centers.
Ensure that the PG end customers are allocated to the right channel (direct or agent).
Develop a scorecard KPI hierarchy for Merchant distribution covering cost, service, quality, safety and efficiency from General Manager down to Terminal Lead. Drive the use of these KPIs in several review meetings.
Own the content of regular terminal optimisation meetings to monitor distribution efficiency progress for all 3 product lines.
Participate in a Distribution Community of Practice covering European Merchant Gases and Global PG.
Act as distribution optimisation consultant for non-European PG business units through best practice sharing and leadership replication pilot projects.
Systems
Maximise the use of state-of-the-art mathematical distribution optimisation techniques in collaboration with the IT Decision Science team.
Identify further enhancements of QUEST, LBShell and Optimum Tank Sizing in support of distribution optimisation.
Ad Hoc Analysis Projects
Maintain overview of transport contracts to have up-to-date transport cost standards.
Determine optimal supply chain plan for introducing new PG offerings (filling sites, ID transport, inventory locations).
Analyse customer specific transport requirements (e.g. major Traded Chemicals customers).
Determine distribution strategy for entering new geographies.
Identify optimal number of sites and geographic locations for a regional PG depot network.
Apply Six Sigma approach to distribution and optimise related processes and tools.
Miminum qualifications and requirements we are looking for:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in distribution or supply chain optimisation or financial analysis.
Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Research or Mathematics.
Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt certified and practical experiences.
Good knowledge of SAP(supply chain), operations research techniques, R, Minitab and Qlik analytics platforms.
Strong supervisory and project management skills.
Language Skills: fluent in English, Spanish and French are a plus.
Creative, analytical and methodical mindset with an eagerness to learn and improve. Self starter.
Strong ability to influence individuals and management and drive peak performance.
Ability to communicate clearly at all levels of the organisation.
