What you’ll do

In a few words…

We seek a brilliantly analytical mind that is both internally and externally driven to succeed; a person who can collaborate between different work groups and knows how to create a good analysis report. Oh, you’ll get plenty of chances to wow us with your Excel table skills and keen eye for details (in particular, when those details stray from the norm). After all, this is an analyst position. The Rebate Operations Analyst gets to own Abarca’s entire rebate aggregations processes, including execution, maintenance, and oversight.

The fundamentals for the job…

  • Own, execute, and maintain the reporting and oversight tools & documentation of the end-to-end rebate aggregations processes.
  • Manage all Abarca rebate-contracting configuration in our proprietary platform, Darwin.
  • Generate, analyze, and send out rebate reports to clients or internal users
  • Identify and report any deviation from the expected amounts in accepted, billings, and overall aggregator performance data received (e.g. QA of external claims files for rebate billing.)
  • Ensure the Accepted/Rejected/Summary of Claims files are received and uploaded
  • Generate and validate downstream clients reports for rebate-only clients
  • Create QA and provide Monthly accepted/Rejected sum & detail to RA Client
  • Create QA and provide monthly Rebate summary estimate reports to RA clients
  • Create QA and ask for hand sign-off before providing monthly or quarterly estimated billing reports for RA clients
  • Assist in preparation of management reports, presentations, accompanying schedules, worksheets, narratives, and quarterly and annual regulatory filings.
  • Assist with special projects and provide support on all company audits related to rebates processes.

What you’re made of

The bold requirements…

  • Bachelor’s degree in an analytic field (e.g. engineering, economics, math, statistics). If you don’t have a degree in that field, you’d be just as great with a bachelor’s degree + 2 years of professional analytic experience. (We’re flexible with that.)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Don’t pretend that you haven’t created complex tables and analytic models with it. You’re the pivot table master that we’ve been dreaming of.
  • Yeah, we expect you to bring strong SQL abilities. Tableau and Microsoft BI experience would also be nice.
  • Do we even need to mention you’re a fierce critical thinker? You NEED to seek out problems in data and propose potential solutions. It’s like your daily vitamin requirement. Data nerd and proud.
  • Your computer proficiency levels and Microsoft Office skills are par with Mr. Gates himself (They must be. We know what you’ve been up to with Excel.) and you know your way around the Internet much better than Google Maps knows the way around your town.
  • You can communicate effectively (read, speak, write, exchange pleasantries, argue endlessly on Twitter, and in your head) in English and Spanish.
  • Must be authorized to work in US territory.

Nice to have…

  • We have a special stash of happy stickers for people with previous Healthcare/PBM experience.
  • Experience with presenting to senior leadership. If you can make those animated presentations that sell like marketing algorithms, we’re giddy.
  • Previous experience with process improvement? (Bring out the premium coffee!)

That something extra we´d love to see…

  1. Analytical: Obviously because this is an “analyst” position, but even if you weren’t applying, you’d still be trying to analyze why we write these the way we do and how they could be better. In your book, there is no such thing as overthinking.
  2. Driven: You go from 0 to 60 in less than 5 seconds with just a slight push of your pedal. Your juggling skills are impressive and you never miss a deadline. You compare and compete, striving to excel at everything. Your legs could be dead halfway through a marathon and you would still finish the race because not finishing is simply NOT an option.
  3. Collaborator: You’re the human embodiment of balance, yin & yang, harmony, equilibrium, etc. When the quarks joined to form a neutron, you were there, supervising. Your presence practically guarantees a happy medium as you flow along different departments. We’re not sure if you’re using a Time-Turner or some sort of Tesseract, but you seem to be in more than one place at a time.
  4. Strategic Thinking: You’re always 3 steps ahead of your opponent and you can foretell what will be needed along the process. Always prepared because you knew it was coming.
  5. Detailed: You notice everything, every little thing; and you rarely forget any of it. Your attention to detail borders on photographic and your spirit animal is a hawk. If anything changes, you notice. Note taking is a hobby.

The above description is not intended to limit the scope of the job or to exclude other duties not mentioned. It is absolutely not a final set of specifications for the position. It’s simply meant to give readers an idea of what the role entails.
