Senior Chemical Registration & Notification Analyst
Huntsman has a rare opportunity for an experienced Toxicologist with a background in issues management and product innovation process to provide strategic advice and support to our Advanced Materials business unit
As part of a Global Product EHS Group you will be responsible for ensuring effective risk management of an extensive, specialty product portfolio through the evaluation and impact assessment of regulatory concerns, thus contributing to overall product sustainability and market continuity.
Additionally, as the Senior Chemical Registration & Notification Analyst, you will:
Perform product impact assessments and ensure effective communications to stakeholders
Represent Global Product EHS Group in business risk and issue management activities
Establish a timely and efficient monitoring and evaluation process which addresses authority concerns, and prepare and coordinate Huntsman responses as part of our product defense activities
Establish an effective risk assessment process for Strategic Marketing, R&D and Technical teams, whilst building long term strategic relationships as a key advisor within the innovation process
Avoid any regulatory non-compliance of our portfolio from a toxicological perspective by managing an effective Substance of Concern (SoC) process and to prevent SVHC status where possible
Contribute to the development of strategic business plans which minimize risks to the global product portfolio
Work closely with the Global Research & Technology Leadership teams to identify and mitigate potential risks within our current or emerging product portfolios due to revised regulations and/or competitor actions
Maintain and develop technical expertise in areas of toxicology and risk assessment to keep abreast of relevant regulations, legislation and emerging issues
Participate and represent Huntsman in various trade organizations, industry groups and regulatory bodies
Degree qualified in Toxicology/Ecotoxicology, Chemistry or Biochemistry with previous experience in a toxicology and issues management capacity
Extensive knowledge of REACH regulations in an industrial chemistry sector with working knowledge of global chemical legislations (TSCA, China/Taiwan/Korea regulations)
Able to identity and define problems, develop alternative solutions, and develop a recommended course of action.
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence and engage at all levels of the organisation
Strong conceptual and analytical thinking skills with the ability to identify underlying issues in complex situations and assess business impact.
Previous involvement working with, and influencing, industry bodies such as ECHA
High level of personal conviction and ambition to continuous to develop your technical skills and seniority within the business
This position can be based at any of our European locations with regular travel to our Divisional Head Office in Basel required.
