The Energy, Resources & Infrastructure (ERI) team is comprised of c. 130 professionals and has a leading position as advisor and arranger of limited-recourse project financing solutions in the following sectors across Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA):

• Infrastructure

• Metals & Mining

• Oil & Gas – Upstream

• Oil & Gas - Midstream and Downstream

• Power and Renewables

ERI is part of Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) - Capital Markets. The team advises clients with respect to their debt financing needs, arranges and structures debt financing as mandated lead arranger, cross sells other products of the bank (including hedging and cash management solutions), acts as coverage for certain clients and monitors its exposure to transactions on its book. The team is located in Paris, Brussels and London (main hubs), with local teams in Milan and Madrid.

ERI is organized around three groups, namely Origination, Transaction and Credit Portfolio Management, operating in a very integrated and coordinated way.

ERI is presently looking for one Analyst for the Credit Portfolio Management team based in Brussels, team being in charge post-closing of the client relationship, risk monitoring, and real life handling (including refinancings) of the ERI transactions. The selected candidate will report to the local head of the Credit Portfolio Management team in Brussels.

• Be responsible for the monitoring of all deal risks post-closing, during construction and/or operation periods as relevant, for a portfolio of allocated transactions, including without limitation:

  • As relevant attendance to bank meetings, site visits, client meetings and preparation of related reports

  • Prepare timely annual reviews and the quarterly Watch Lists/ Dubious Debtors reports, handle waiver/amendment requests (risks analysis, preparation of internal request), check that covenants are duly met as per the documentation, and generally handle all internal processes post-closing

  • Support RMs during the KYC renewal process

  • Run and/or maintain financial models (Excel)

  • Liaison with numerous other departments of the bank (RISK, Legal, Middle office, Booking Center, Agency, Global Markets, Syndication etc.)
  
  
  
  

• Present in and/or attend credit committees

• Contribute to business opportunities identification for deals under his/her responsibility (refinancings, cross sells)

• Support the execution of certain refinancings, within a team determined by ERI management on a case-by-case basis

• Support restructurings of deals, as appropriate with the support of VPG and/or Transaction Group

Highlight your strengths

Candidate Profile:

• Previous experience in investment banking, corporate banking, commercial banking or credit analysis ;

• Ideally second assignment (3 years professional experience)

• Interest for infrastructure and power / renewables sectors

• Previous experience in structured finance is a plus

Required skills:

• Strong academic background : master in finance or economy or degree in engineering or law degree

• Corporate finance fundamentals (including cash flow analysis)

• Fluency in English (working language)– fluency in Dutch and/or French would be highly appreciated

• Working knowledge of Spanish or German or any other European language is a plus

• Proficiency with Excel – financial modelling experience is a plus

• Team working spirit – working in multicultural environments

• Organizational skills – working under pressure and meeting the deadlines
