Job Description

Collections & Recoveries assists our customers in the management of their financial commitments by working towards a mutually agreeable payment solution across all Optus.

Reporting to the Associate Director, the Group Risk – Performance Analytics Manager will be responsible for

  • proactively work with our key stakeholders to drive strategic performance improvements in our cost base, debtor performance and Bad Debt
  • data gathering and analysis in order to generate product and commercial insights to enable improvements to financial performance as well as our customer’s experience
  • annual planning, operational performance reporting and development of budget models including the creation and maintenance of forecasts
  • Lead and develop a team of skilled analysts responsible for operational and financial performance reporting
  • Develop key performance indicators, reporting and performance monitoring processes to enable management team to monitor business performance and drive accountability
  • Continuous improvement in all aspects of the Credit Risk Management cycle. Identifying, quantifying, and resolving internal control gaps. Implementing effective control.

About you

You are a self-starter with a curious mind and collaborative attitude - preferred skills and experience include:

  • will have previous experience in a commercial Finance/Business Partner capacity and be either CA or CPA qualified (or equivalent).
  • Confidence in presenting information in a clear a logical way to different stakeholders at the GM and Executive level (and below) and proficient with data analysis tools and techniques, including SQL.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a related/similar role (involvements in Credit/Billing/Collection system transformation programs will be advantageous)
  • Programming / automation /data mining
  • Extensive knowledge in Risk management framework
  • Great communication skills and ability to build relationships with diverse teams
  • Have intense curiosity - a desire to go beneath the surface of a problem, find the questions at its heart and distil them into a very clear set of hypotheses that can be tested
