Position :
Purpose This role leads the creation of new products and enhancements to existing products from concept to launch, as part of cross-functional project teams. The Lead Application Developer designs, implements, and supports solutions that result in compelling, easy to use products for the business.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Design and develop features across multiple subsystems, including collaboration in requirements definition, prototyping, design, coding, testing and deployment.
+ Participate in requirements analysis in collaboration with Product owners.
+ Understand how applications operate, are structured, and how customers use them.
+ In collaboration with Architects and Development managers, initiate and drive improvements to solution architectures, simplification of the technical ecosystem and reduction of technical debt.
+ Document solutions clearly in specifications, diagrams, source code and implementation plans.
+ In collaboration with QA analysts, develop automated test scripts to support functional and non-functional requirements of solutions.
+ Drive CI/CD practices for solutions, automating deployment and configuration management across environments.
+ Review Application Developers’ deliverables for alignment to requirements, design patterns, security standards and solution quality.
+ Provide engineering support to technical operations associates when they are building, deploying, configuring and supporting systems for customers.
+ Participate in interactions with business users as a technical expert for product subsystems; provide advice on changes to and use of the products.
+ Maintain in-depth knowledge of IT industry best practices, technologies, architectures and emerging technologies.
+ Actively participate in team’s Scrum meetings, and drive process and practice improvements.

Experience:
+ 8+ years as a software engineer; demonstrated success developing a variety of software systems while taking on increasing responsibility for analysis, design, implementation and deployment tasks
+ 6+ years developing data-driven applications, including RESTful API layers over the top of complex back-end engines. Proven experience with multiple databases, including: Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, as well as NoSQL databases.
+ Expert in multiple programming languages including one or more of the following Java, C#, C++, Node.js — demonstrating a clear understanding of Object-oriented and functional software development paradigms.
+ 6+ years building web-based software systems, utilising N-tier architectures, single-page applications, highly-scalable approaches, and complex security models/implementations
+ Proficiency developing and troubleshooting complex software systems that run in mixed-environments including Linux, Unix and/or Windows
+ Proven experience in configuring Hibernate, Spring, Apache Camel and other similar frameworks.
+ Experience and deep understanding of Agile software development practices.
+ Demonstrating a strong commercial mindset; with proven results in delivering an enhanced customer experience, through establishing and executing best practice initiatives, tools and systems.

+ Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
