Application Engineer - Secure Data Flows and Processes (m/f/d)

Are you looking for an experience in the Internet of Things and secure mobile business, providing secure products to the biggest companies in the world?

Within the NXP Operations, we are looking for an experienced Application Engineer to join our Operations team in the Trust Provisioning department. Trust Provisioning provides trust to customers that all their code and data, including secrets, are treated confidential and authentic at NXP. The Trust Provisioning process provides services and enables chip individual customization of products using customer’s secret data. This is done in highly secure and protected environments via certified infrastructure and processes.

You will be part of a team of operation experts, enabling the trust within the product, supporting the creation of production flows. You will be responsible for providing the relevant application landscape locally in Hamburg as well as worldwide in our mass production sites. Our global team is working across multiple NXP businesses with products ranging from RFID tags to highly complex smart cards, passports and secure devices for mobile payment.

In this exciting role your responsibilities will include:

  • Define and maintain application landscape to support production processes
  • Identify and introduce suitable technical innovations to improve availability and maintainability
  • Collaborate with our IT experts to innovate and improve IT infrastructure, with focus on:
    • Windows 2012R2, 2016, 2019,,.NET
    • VMware, Hyper-V, potentially ESX
    • Docker, Kubernetes
    • MSSQL, Oracle
  • Close cooperation with software development team to introduce new systems into operations
  • Plan and execution of application deployment into production
  • Close cooperation with service provider to ensure that all infrastructure and network requirements are met (availability, reliability and security)
  • Execution of ITIL processes
  • Drive improvements with focus on reliability, redundancy and ease of support for applications
  • Identify risks, find mitigations, containments actions and ensure execution
  • Document operations processes and share knowledge in team

Your Profile:

  • Master/Bachelor in Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing or similar education with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in managing of IT applications in highly available environments,
  • Profound knowledge of IT infrastructure, network and application operation
  • Able to see the big picture
  • Good organizational and team collaboration skills
  • Good time management skills with the ability to plan and prioritize
  • Fluent in English and German (desired)
  • Comfort with ambiguity, agile environments or unpredictability
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experienced in risk management and mitigation
  • Self-motivated, autonomous, self-dependent and taking initiative
