This is a role for a visual designer, communicator and problem solver who wants to have their hands in several things at once; who can deliver end-to-end design across media types, screens, formats and technologies; and who can collaborate well with others.

  • We are looking for an experienced Art Director who:
  • Has extensive relevant design or creative leadership experience on an editorially focused design. product; bonus for tours in publishing, magazines, or content creation/delivery.
  • Has a real passion for a wide variety of editorial, digital and magazine design.
  • Demonstrates mastery of the Adobe Creative and iWork suites.
  • Has fluency across graphic design, typography, photography and illustration.
  • Has a deep knowledge of the Music and Video industries in the Australia & New Zealand market.
  • Is a conceptual thinker who is strategically centred.
  • Demonstrates command of visual and communication design principles.
  • Authors, shares and merchandises ideas in a cogent and inspiring manner.
  • Delivers highly-resolved works at the intersection of culture and design.
  • Leads the creation and stewardship of design languages and style guides and their evolution across regional design teams.
  • Acts as a cultural guide, exposing unique, regional visual trends and seamlessly applying them to the Apple brand.
  • Has ability to rapidly prototype visual design work in situation.
  • Possesses strong photographic sensibility; sourcing, art-buying, editing, re-touching or capturing.
  • Has a keen ability to create work under minimal supervision, as well as package and present solutions to the wider international creative team. Quickly and beautifully.


The Art Director will be responsible for researching, designing, directing and delivering creative for regional promotions across all Apple Media platforms. You will be expected to move fluidly been giving direction to visual designers, and creating first-class visual solutions yourself. You flourish in a dynamic, ever-changing, and deadline driven production environment. All design at Apple is considered very closely by many teams. You will need to have experience working in a fast paced, iterative process and be able to professionally accept art direction and feedback. You should: - Have a fountain of ideas and creative thinking who can think and implement quickly, laterally, independently or collaboratively. - Have experienced in developing and executing a design strategy and has an advanced understanding of what makes content engaging and successful across platforms and audiences. - Demonstrate strong user experience sensibilities with an uncanny level of curiosity; keeps up with the evolving landscape of available tools, technologies and resources. - Collaborate with Creatives, Project Managers, Business Owners and Executives to solve complex problems with simple solutions. - Have experience developing prototypes for a variety of platforms and use cases; can rapidly prototype their ideas across a myriad of Apple devices, experiences and scenarios. - Have a real passion in cultivating relationships, leading and mentoring creatives, and can use that rapport to align teams around a vision. - Have a keen understanding of local market creative and cultural nuances. - Demonstrate clear and concise communication, organisation skills and ability to work across time zones. - Love for the Apple brand and committed in preserving its authenticity.

Bachelor’s degree in Graphic, Information, Communication, Web design or equivalent experience PORTFOLIO - Demonstrates proficiency in delivering strategic creative ideas across digital, social or static form factors. - Displays exceptional graphic design skills. - Informs with clear and concise communication and organisation skills. - Reflects strength in translating high level briefs into original visual styles and directions.
