Reports to

Restaurant Manager

Summary of Role:

  • To manage shift operations maintaining the highest possible standards of customer service, product quality and restaurant cleanliness.
  • To assist in the overall management of the restaurant to ensure regulation of costs and the maximization of sales and profitability.
  • To act as second-in-command and in partnership with the Restaurant Manager, to provide direction to both staff and management teams.

Requirements

Must have Burger King management experience.

Operations (Health & Safety, Loss Control)

  • To carry out a fully operational role as represented in the role of an Assistant Manager
  • Supervise staff and managers at all times to ensure that appropriate quality and hygiene standards are complied with and take corrective action where necessary
  • Implement REV action plans
  • Liase with suppliers and service contractors for quotations on equipment repair & maintenance
  • Investigate incidents and implement action plans

Business Planning & Financial Control

  • Change safe combinations and report to management team and Area Manager
  • Check that daily paperwork is being completed correctly
  • Prepare weekly paperwork
  • Ensure cash security systems in place and are being adhered to
  • Carry out Retail Audits

Customer Service

  • Set up and manage communication of customer groups
  • Complete trading area surveys
  • Resolve customer complaints promptly
  • Investigate and address service issues highlighted in the Mystery Shop or Operations standards Audit

People Management & Development

  • Identify recruitment needs and develop recruitment plan with Restaurant Manager
  • Identify potential in restaurant staff and develop their responsibilities to increase their skills for further development
  • Complete management schedules if required
  • Management and staff coaching
  • Carry out Absence and Disciplinary management
  • Conduct Staff meetings
  • Evaluate the performance of staff and supervisors and recommend appropriate actions such as wage increase, promotions, development or retraining to the Restaurant Manager

Sales Building

  • Organise and carry out Right Track training
  • Ensure the consistent implementation of national and local promotions
