*Position Description Summary:* The George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs invites applications for a tenure track position in the field of U.S. National Security Policy. Security studies is defined broadly to include U.S. grand strategy, defense analysis, weapons proliferation and arms control, the use of force, cybersecurity, intrastate war, terrorism and counterterrorism, and other contemporary policy issues; and international relations theories that are relevant to assessing these issue areas. The position will be based in the Elliott School’s Institute for Security and Conflict Studies and affiliated with the M.A. program in Security Policy Studies, beginning in academic year 2019-2020. Successful candidates will also have an appointment in the GWU Political Science Department. Teaching responsibilities would include undergraduate and graduate students in the Elliott School and other students at the University.
