Job Description

As Associate Director Medical Affairs, Cell Therapy you will be independently responsible for the scientific support of key opinion leaders and key stake holders in the highly innovative therapeutic area Cell Therapy. You will join the local high performing team and have the opportunity, together with the cross-functional team, to establish this groundbreaking new therapeutic option in Switzerland

Responsibilities:

  • Establishes strong relationships with opinion leaders, payers, clinical investigators, providers at academic and non-academic settings and relevant non-governmental organizations (patient organizations, community groups).
  • Provides scientific data and medical information to opinion leaders and responds to clinical inquiries.
  • Deliver impactful presentations in a variety of different settings. Develops and presents complex scientific and clinical data for Gilead products.
  • Develops national strategic plan in line with global strategic planning and executes projects and tactics according to this plan.
  • Collaborates with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Anticipates complex obstacles and difficulties that may arise in the field and resolves them in a collaborative manner.
  • Works collaboratively with Gilead personnel in Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Public Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, Clinical Research and global/regional Medical Affairs Team.
  • Has the ability to work as a member of several teams that may overlap.
  • Travels to appointments, meetings and conferences on a frequent and regular basis, occasionally with short notice.
  • Must be fully cognizant of all relevant complex scientific data. Must also be cognizant of complex regulatory requirements.
  • Committed to continuing education to maintain knowledge base.
  • Provides accrual enhancement activities at trial sites or referral centers- supports clinical trial sites.
  • Provides investigator sponsored research and registry support.
  • Develops and delivers advisory boards.
  • Operates in compliance with all laws, regulations and policies, including those related to clinical trials, scientific interactions with internal and external groups, and responses to unsolicited requests for medical/scientific information.

Role Requirements:

  • Degree in Medicine, Pharmacy or Bioscience and preferably PhD.
  • Relevant experience must include pharmaceutical industry and/or relevant clinical experience.
  • Well-developed experience in preparing and delivering scientific presentations is required.  
  • Clinical patient contact experience is required.
  • Demonstrates success in managing highly complex multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrates excellence in leading cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent problem solving skills, personal initiative and collaborative working.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory and compliance required.
  • Understanding of hospital hematology/oncology departments.
  • Relationships with institutions and/or hospitals in territory.
  • Driving license
