Associate Research Manager, Quantitative

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

    Purpose of the role                        

    • Assists in managing the total research needs of a regular client or a set of minor clients by supervising all projects undertaken and develops close business relationships together with the Senior Manager/Director. 
    • Undertakes innovative or new research concept applications under the guidance of the Associate Account Director.

      Role deliverables:                          

      Account Management

      • Attends to clients’ research needs under direct supervision of the AMD Director / Business Unit Head (BUH).
      • Services at least one of the top 10 clients/Key Accounts and at least two regular small revenue clients on his/her own under direct supervision of BUH.
      • Recommends appropriate research projects/programs based on client’s informational needs/problems
      • Prepares proposals and cost estimates for projects using innovative, customized research methodologies and business solutions, subject to BU Head’s approval
      • Establishes appropriate operating budgets and timetables for each phase of the project.
      • Oversees proposals and cost estimates for projects delegated to junior team members (RA/RE).
      • Meets with clients to discuss details of proposed projects
      • Provides feedback to clients on the progress of projects.
      • Ensures profit objectives of projects under his/her responsibility.
      • Networks and develops close relationships with set of clients.
      • Assists in championing one TNS packaged products.
      • May assist the BUH in developing the group’s annual plans and programs                              

      Project Management

      • Reviews research briefs and recommends appropriate research methodology for basic ad hoc researches.
      • Consults MQM on research standards/methodology/advanced analytics
      • Coordinates with Field and Data Management Services on project costing
      • Writes the proposal.
      • Prepares the analysis plan under the supervision of BUH
      • Conducts desk research to enhance analysis of data.
      • Prepares the detailed analysis, highlights, conclusions and recommendations.
      • Prepares final report for submission to client.
      • Clears/finalizes presentation materials and charts prepared by Measurement and Quality Management trainees
      • Coordinates with client on date of presentation of study.
      • Presents to client result of study, under the supervision of a Senior Manager or a Research Director.
      • Submits file copy of report to library and purges all working papers for security measure.
      • Supervises the return of product samples, tapes, manuscripts, etc. provided by client.
      • Ensures that client is billed the total and correct cost of the project in coordination with AMD Staff Assistant.

      Administrative Responsibilities

      Participates in departmental special projects and other programs as the occasion demand.

      • College graduate in any of the following – Communication Research, Marketing, Statistics, Math, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Mass Communication,
      • Management or any related discipline. 
      • Working knowledge of the use of various statistical and analytical techniques is an advantage. 
      • Proficiency in SPSS or other statistical tools is an advantage. 
      • Proficient in MS PowerPoint, Excel and Word
      • Demonstrates intellectual and professional integrity. 
      • Demonstrates leadership and generates teamwork across functions. 
      • Good networking skills and service orientation. 
      • Innovative, adaptable and flexible. 
      • Able to manage multiple projects at the same time. 
      • Articulate at conveying ideas, both oral and written.
      • Good presentation skills
      • Good in numbers, attentive to details
