Associate Software Engineer

We provide benchmark and tradable indices covering the fixed income and equities markets. Our indices are constructed using a rules-based approach to maintain transparency and objectivity, supported by independent multi-source pricing.  We design indices across asset classes and custom indices to meet unique requirements.

Your Role

Key responsibilities include:

• Day to day responsibility for building solutions and managing medium to large sized data mastering projects as part of EDM development team. We expect that this will naturally lead to an understanding of the overall architecture and an opportunity to work on developing, improving and optimizing various financial applications.
• Work independently and in a small development group.
• Will be working on IHS Markit EDM tool using SQL Server.
• Assisting in deployment and support of AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Will be writing Python scripts.
• Coordinate with QA, BA and product groups to represent the development efforts.
• Work closely with analysts to gather business requirements, develop and deliver highly scalable and numerate financial applications
• Quickly understand system architecture and become involved in design and development, taking ownership of assigned modules to drive projects to completion.
• Experience working with global technology and product teams
• BS in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Finance with 2-4 years’
• experience 

About You

Key Qualifications and Skills:

• 2 years of experience in a similar field
• Very strong SQL skills, database design, SQL performance optimization techniques
• High level scripting experience, preferably Python.
• Experience with development, support and release of database driven software.
• Ability to critically review, debug and diagnose existing application codebase across all application tiers.
• Familiarity with Agile development process.
• Familiarity with Financial domain required.
• Experience working with AWS is desired, but not required.
