This position supports the Competition & Applied Economics team within Ankura's Disputes & Economics practice - one of six practices focused on client delivery services across the Firm.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Ideal candidate will have coursework-based or on-the-job experience performing quantitative analysis and have familiarity or experience with statistical programming software. Candidate must demonstrate superior judgment, and superior professionalism, must be mature, focused, organized, and able to work independently and multi‐task while prioritizing work load. We are looking for someone who is energetic, pro‐active, and personable, with excellent follow‐up skills and initiative. Candidate must be a team player who can juggle a wide range of tasks and activities. Flexible hours and overtime hours are required and may be unexpected at times. Primary duties include using creative thinking skills to conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis in support of expert economic reports, testimony or research, often in a litigation context.
Responsibilities:
+ Summarize, analyze and prepare materials and findings in a clear and concise manner
+ Conduct primary and secondary research, apply critical thinking skills, develop deep knowledge of case specific topics
+ Audit the work of others, conduct data review, ensure accuracy and consistency of data and related work
+ Perform data analysis and interpret results
+ Convey results of analysis via clear written documentation
+ Collaborate with team members on group projects
+ Limited travel or no travel expected in this position
Qualifications:
+ Undergraduate degree or Master’s degree, majoring in economics or a related field
+ Research activity was evident during studies; for Senior Associate position, several years of relevant work experience required.
+ Experience with data analysis and statistical or econometric software, preferred (e.g., Excel, SAS, STATA, R, SQL, Python)
+ Exhibits initiative and strong organizational and team skills
+ Strong analytical, research, and quantitative skills (and interest)
+ Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize changing work loads
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills
