We are looking for a Senior Ruby on Rails Developer to join a growing engineering team working on scalable, modern web applications.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality backend systems while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with excellent communication and strategic thinking capabilities.
This position requires someone who is highly autonomous, dependable, and comfortable taking ownership of technical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Backend Development
- Design, develop, and maintain applications using:
- Ruby on Rails 8+
- PostgreSQL
- Redis
- Build scalable and maintainable backend services and APIs
- Optimize application performance, reliability, and database efficiency
Frontend Collaboration
- Collaborate on frontend integration using Svelte
- Work closely with frontend developers to ensure smooth data flow and user experience
API & System Integration
- Develop and maintain GraphQL APIs
- Integrate internal and external services as needed
- Ensure clean architecture and maintainable service communication
Cloud & Infrastructure
- Work within cloud-based environments using Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Support deployment, monitoring, and operational reliability of applications
Architecture & Technical Leadership
- Contribute to:
- system architecture decisions
- technical planning
- scalability improvements
- Promote engineering best practices and maintainable code standards
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
KPIs
- Stability and scalability of backend systems

Must-Have Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with Ruby on Rails (Rails 8+ preferred)
- Experience with:
- PostgreSQL

- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Strong understanding of:
- scalable backend architecture
- API design
- database optimization
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
