BI Architect

We have an exciting opportunity for a BI Architect to join us in Hong Kong

The role holder is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Business Intelligence (BI) architecture and data warehouse foundations for enhancing the enterprise-wide analytical and reporting capabilities. The incumbent will have hands-on ownership of full lifecycle development and performance tuning of the enterprise-wide data warehouse ensuring data solutions are properly scoped, designed, implemented, tested, and maintained to meet ever changing business needs.

1. Develop BI-IT architecture (integrated process, applications, data and technology) solutions to business problems in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards
2. Participate in business and technical strategy meetings for developing, proposing, and sharing ideas to develop data solutions as well as recommend strategies to improve performance and capacity of BI tools
3. Provide expert review of system development work with respect to IT standards and validation procedures for BI work products
4. Perform technical planning, architecture development and specifications development for new BI products and data center service offerings
5. Assesses the compatibility and integration of BI products/services with other enterprise applications in order to ensure an integrated service delivery model
6. Ensure the accuracy of technical artifacts relating to data requirements, database design, data integration, and objected-oriented data access service, maintain accurate and complete technical architectural documents
7. Identify and enforce data standards to ensure consistent and maintainable application metadata
8. Develop scalable and maintainable BI applications to meet business objectives
9. Collaborate with BI Administrators, Developers and Analysts for successful development of BI reporting and analysis solutions
10. Stay abreast of new technologies in the market and find ways of incorporating best practices at Capgemini
11. Mentor and guide juniors; play active role in onboarding and training new joinees

Requirements:

• B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, M. Tech/ M.S (preferred)
• 10 - 12 years of progressive experience with at least 6 years of experience in implementing BI/ Data solutions in Microsoft Azure ecosystem
• Good experience in implementing BI/ data solutions using Cloud based services platforms like MS Azure/ AWS/ Google Cloud platform
• Expert in designing and implementing end-to-end data solutions (storage, integration, processing, visualization) in Azure
• Architect & implement medium to large scale BI solutions on Azure using Azure Data Platform services (Azure Data Lake, Data Factory, Data Lake Analytics, Stream Analytics, Azure SQL DW, HDInsight/Databricks, NoSQL DB)
• Design & implement migration strategies for traditional systems on Azure (Lift and shift/Azure Migrate, other third-party tools)
• Knowledge of Azure Storage and Pricing Options
• Expertise in Data warehousing techniques and frameworks
• Expertise in build and support processes for a multi-layer cloud-based data platform
• Knowledge of platform and tools like Microsoft Power BI, Qlik View, Alteryx, BRIO, IBM Cognos etc.
• Knowledge of Microsoft stack especially on MSBI - SSIS, SSAS
• Knowledge of Performance Monitoring Tool: Azure SQL Analytics, Solar Winds, SQL Server Profiler, System Monitor etc.
• Knowledge of programming languages like Python, R
• Knowledge of Scripting tools: Windows Power Shell, Shell Script, Azure CLI, Transact SQL, AWS CLI,UNIX
• Knowledge of ISO, CMMI, Process Improvement & Process Standardization frameworks
