  JOB DESCRIPTION Basic Information Position Title Branch Service Officer Grade Executive, Sr. Executive, Assistant Manager, Deputy Manager Vertical Liability Location Branches Business Branch Banking Department Liability Sales Service Organizational Relationships Position Reporting to Branch Manager Direct Reports if any SSO Job Purpose Qualification Graduate in any Discipline Relevant Experience 1-2 years of Banking experience in the rural belt Functional Competencies Ability to Sell and Manage Operation of the branch  Behavioral  Competencies Excellent Negotiation Skills Selling skills Job Responsibilities Responsible for managing the entire operations, service delivery for a branch and for delivery within stringent time and quality commitments. Cross-sell bank products by answering inquiries, informing customers of new services and product promotions. Ascertaining customers' needs and , Direct customers to branch representative.  Responsible for customer service by meeting immediate requirements at the front end including disbursal and management of cash, processing of demand drafts, cheque deposits, handling and resolution of customer queries.
Concentrate on the operational excellence of the Branch in all areas for which BSO duties are specifically assigned by the Branch Manager. Financial Responsibilities Contribute to the fulfilment of Branch/ Bank objectives and goals. Promotes and cross sell the bank’s products and services Non Financial Responsibilities                     Accept retail and/or commercial deposits, loan payments, process checking and CASA  account withdrawals Maintain an adequate cash drawer at all times; this includes buying and selling currency from the vault as necessary Balance cash drawer in accordance with Bank procedures and regulations including periodic batching of cashed checks Reconcile cash drawer by tally cash transactions and Counting and packaging currency and coins , Turning in excess cash and mutilated currency to head teller etc. Manage all processes such as cash, key movements, security stationery, deliverables, welcome kits, stop payments, Govt. accounts/ business of the Branch as per the related guidelines of the Bank. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Migration of customer to digital Channel from Branch banking Answer customer inquiries and refer customers to the proper service area for issues that cannot be resolved at the teller line. Responsible for bank opening and/or closing as well as batch opening and closing in absence of BM. Responsible for managing the premises upkeep, controls, process and expenses at the branch, ensuring appropriate “look and feel” of the Branch.  Comply with bank operations and security procedures by participating in all dual-control functions. Represent the Bank in a manner that maintains and expands positive relations with all customers, potential customers and co-workers. Supervises and coordinates activities of the operations staff at the branch. Responsible for delivery within stringent time and quality commitments. Co-owner of Branch budgets through Deepening and cross sell though existing customer and generate referrals through walk-ins. Compliance & Risk Responsibilities Understanding of KYC, AML guidelines and comply with all Bank policies, procedures and regulations and other duties as assigned. Auditing  tellers' currency and ensure adherence to internal and external guidelines
