The Opportunity:

In the Lead Brand Designer position, you will work closely with the Brand_ID team, directly crafting the world’s highest–profile brands.

Brand_ID — Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, craft and shape an amazing team of designers that shape amazing work for the world’s biggest brands. You will be a defining voice on the design direction of your projects. Leading by design and working in collaboration with the Design Director to unlock each project or pitches creative potential.
  • Translate brand strategy and creative concepts and starters, into functional and expressive brand identity systems and solutions. That cross the boundaries of design, data and technology and help solve clients problems at scale.
  • Working directly with your clients and internal teams, you’ll ensure we are going above and beyond the original brief to push what’s possible on both a design and creative level.
  • Using your problem–solving skills to guide projects and design teams from start to finish and everything in between to ensure the highest quality work.
  • Present and rationalize the work created by you and the Brand_ID team in person or through video calls when working on pitches and proposals.
  • You will have oversight when needed or jump into a hands on role in order to make sure the brief is met and the clients expectations are superseded.
  • Provide narrative driven, design rationale to articulate and strengthen your proposals and have strong design driven opinions and not be afraid to voice them.

Background & Skills

  • You’re a great designer yourself and you don’t mind getting your hands dirty. You prove your visual prowess through your online portfolio and relevant working experience across the field of graphic design, Brand_ID and digital.
  • Beyond aesthetic excellence, your portfolio demonstrates exemplary presentation, research, rationale, troubleshooting and problem–solving skills.
  • You’re a natural design leader with 8+ years of experience, with a great instinct and proven track record for fostering, growing, educating, motivating, and retaining a team of creative designers as well as being comfortable client facing and leading projects and presentations.
  • Your curiosity and self propelled nature will never you stop learning and progressing. You love pushing the envelope both personally and professionally.
  • You love people and their diversity. You’re great to work with, as you have strong social and communication skills that ensure you understand how colleagues and clients work and think.
  • A feel for the Understanding of the process of branding and potential pitfalls of production.
  • A critical eye but you’re not critical. You understand that a combination of kudos and critique makes people want to go the extra mile.
  • A thorough understanding of design fundamentals such as brand mark design, typography, grid systems, white space, aspect ratios and colour theory, tying all of these elements together with obsessive attention to detail.
  • You feel confident in tackling high–end projects in collaboration with internal and external teams and clients alike.
  • Mastery of all modern design and prototyping tools (Adobe CS and Figma)
  • You’re tidy, and you know how to organise your files, layers and folders to make the lives of colleagues easier.
  • You will require flexibility and willingness to apply design-thinking across all stages of the creative process; research, strategy, expression and implementation.
  • Ultimately reporting into the Head of Brand Design , You have excellent time management and managing of expectations with both internal and external stakeholders. Mindful of your time, budgets and schedule, you are flexible and willing to put in the time and dedication needed to make each project you and your team work on a success.
