Koko Black is a contemporary Australian chocolate company experiencing strong growth across all of its sales channels. Reporting to the Head of Marketing we are looking for a Brand Manager to lead our Seasonal portfolio.

This role is integral in driving brand growth and awareness in the marketplace through the successful development of our Seasonal product portfolio, and imaginative marketing campaigns that establish Koko Black as the go to gifting brand at Easter and Christmas. They will lead the Product and NPD agenda for seasonal campaigns to deliver an innovative, profitable and customer led seasonal portfolio as well as lead to the campaign creative development and execution across all consumer touch-points.

They will work closely with the Head of Marketing, Senior Brand Manager, eCommerce and Digital Manager, Product Development team, Production, Sales as well as Design, VM, and Retail Operations.

The successful applicant will be a highly capable marketing leader who demonstrates ownership and accountability of their portfolio and can work collaboratively in a fast paced environment. As key member of a small team they are equally comfortable setting strategy as they are delivering the day-to-day tasks required to bring campaigns and NPD to market, and will lead by example to foster a constructive, positive and innovative team culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create exciting and genuinely innovative Seasonal (Easter and Christmas) marketing campaigns delivering on our key objectives of driving brand growth, increasing brand awareness, attracting new customers, and building customer loyalty.
  • Accountable for implementation of Seasonal Brand Activations working cohesively with all key internal and external stakeholders to deliver fully integrated multi-channel campaigns on time and within budget.
  • Work collaboratively with eCommerce & Digital Marketing Manager to identify and implement outstanding digital marketing initiatives, including content, social media and online advertising, edM schedule and website execution, to ensure fully aligned with key Brand and campaign strategy.
  • Proactively work with Creative and PR agencies to deliver truly impactful Campaign Creative Idea that comes to life seamlessly across all consumer touch-points.
  • Collaboratively work with Sales Channel Leads (Retail, Corporate, Wholesale and Online) to develop outstanding channel activation plans and sales tools.
  • Accountable as Project Lead for all Seasonal product development (new and existing), manage critical paths and delivery within NPD stage gate process and timings.
  • Work collaboratively with Product development, quality, and production teams to manage new products through the NPD Stage gate process withing required timeframes.
  • Own the seasonal P&L to drive top and bottom line growth.
  • Provide additional support to broader Marketing team as required during quieter periods of seasonal program
  • Fostering a constructive and positive team culture, managing strong internal and external relationships in alignment with Koko Black culture and values.

Required experience:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience BM/SBM roles in retail or FMCG industry including product development and brand marketing experience.
  • Exceptional Project Management experience, demonstrating high level of capability in managing multiple priorities and managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Proven experience with multi-channel planning and execution, ideally familiar with Asian Marketing channels.

The ideal candidate will be process driven, have the ability to set and maintain high standards, be able to deliver consistently to deadlines and enjoy working in a fast paced environment.

They will have proficient understanding of digital marketing channels including Paid Media and Social Media. Additionally the person in this role must have excellent communication skills, demonstrating strong influencing and negotiation skills.
