Position Description

Brambles has initiated a digital journey for the whole company. Core to that journey is control of our Supply Chain and the development of processes, data and system capabilities to support digitally enabled management methods. 

This role will be responsible for working as a liaison with business stakeholders to understand business structure, policies and processes and to recommend solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals.  Responsible for eliciting the needs of stakeholders not simply their expressed desires, working with the business to prioritize those needs, ensuring alignment to business objectives. 
The Business Analyst is also responsible for clearly documenting and expressing functional, non-functional and transition requirements to IT stakeholders such as systems analysts, developers and quality assurance analysts to ensure the right solution is built to meet business needs. 
The holder of this role should have a keen interest in digitally-enabled ways of working and should be willing to challenge business requirements supports developing the solutions and recommendations for the current business operations.

Main Accountabilities

  • Establishing the contribution that data technology can make to business objectives using a range of techniques such as eliciting and documenting requirements with stakeholders, conducting feasibility studies, producing business models, preparing business cases, usability requirements analysis and usability evaluation.
  • Identifying and obtaining agreement on the requirements / features which will be most beneficial to the business.
  • Ensuring compliance with agreed best practices by selecting appropriately from applicable standards, methods, tools and applications.
  • Identifying and raising issues impacting the execution of strategic / operational / project plans.
  • Understanding overall Enterprise Architecture and assess degree of conformance of existing and new business processes.
  • Overseeing implementation of solutions
  • Influencing team and specialist peers internally, customers at account level and suppliers.
  • Making decisions which influence the success of projects and team objectives
  • Demonstrating an analytical and systematic approach to problem solving.
  • Communicating fluently orally and in writing, presenting complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Planning, scheduling and monitoring work to meet time and quality targets
  • Appreciating of the wider field of information systems, their use in relevant employment areas and how they relate to the business activities.
  • Maintaining an awareness of developing technologies and their application and takes some responsibility for personal development.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or related field.
  • Masters preferred or equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • DESIRABLE: Project Management certification (PMP or CAPM) from PMI
  • DESIRABLE: Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt


  • Significant previous experience in within an IT focused role.
  • 3+ years’ experience managing or influencing technical staff and projects (experience through at least 2 full project lifecycles including upgrades)
  • 3+ years of experience in an analytical role (ideal backgrounds include: business analyst role at a web company, a data-based consulting role, or other data strategy type positions)
  • Proven success in improving the customer experience.
  • Experience working within a matrix structure
