SiloSmashers is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support our federal law enforcement client with analytical support within their Prisoners Operations Division (POD). SiloSmashers enables our federal client to establish national strategies and programs providing for the housing, transportation, and care of federal prisoners.

The Business Case Analyst shall provide expert advice and assistance in support of business improvement efforts. The Business Case Analyst shall conduct studies, analyses, program audits, and evaluations. The Business Case Analyst shall devise remediation and corrective actions in response to findings and shall work with other members of the process improvement team to identify areas of risk. Research, analyze, and apply a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods to improve team effectiveness and various system efficiency.

The Business Case Analyst shall use proven methodologies to define necessary frameworks to engage all stakeholders and provide support in various areas (i.e., SharePoint Administration, Business Requirements, Policy/SOP Development, and Reports). Associated duties include:

  • Serve as the operations analyst; identify, document, analyze, and mitigate risks associated with the POD's mission.
  • Build business cases through market research, cost-benefit analysis, assessment of return on investment, review of benefits and risks, and analysis of alternatives. These analyses shall focus on the reduction of process bottlenecks and pain points, and improve resource utilization while balancing feasibility, risk, and schedule.
  • Provide business case analysis to justify the initiation of a project or task. Justification shall be presented in a well-structured written document or presentation supporting a specific business need.
  • Comprehensively identify the quantifiable and unquantifiable characteristics of a proposed project. Business cases may be either highly structured as required by formal project management methodologies or informal. Both analyses shall include the expected business benefits, the options considered with decision analysis, the expected project cost, gap analysis and anticipated risks.
  • Conduct studies and surveys designed to identify improvements in the way communication and information technology are applied to key business functions and analyze feedback to recommend improvements.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Must have a public trust clearance
  • A minimum of three years of specialized experience that is in or directly related to the line of work.
  • Experience comprehending, analyzing, and interpreting complex documents.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and research skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both in writing and speaking to present information and respond effectively to sensitive issues.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Ability to solve problems involving various types of situations.
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook software programs.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with two (2) years or more of business analyst experience. Educational requirements may be waived if the candidate has five (5) or more years of experience and may be substituted for education.
