Position Description

Business : CHEP India

Function/Department : AUTO- Sales

Position Title & Location : Manager, Business Development, Sales, CHEP Automotive

Position Purpose : To develop the Auto business (North region) covering Uttarakhand, Punjab, NCR, UP, Himachal Pradesh and Jamshedpur 

Major/Key Accountabilities :

The key responsibilities are:

-the winning of new business at Tier 1 manufacturers and Tier 2 manufacturers   

-the successful management of pilots or trials at customers

-the management of major accounts and sales processes to deliver revenue growth

-the monitoring of market information to alert CHEP to opportunity and competitive threat

-the delivery & implementation of effective communications and presentations to the Indian Automotive market to promote CHEP managed re-useable and returnable supply chain packaging solutions

- adherence to all corporate and statutory requirements with respect to competitive behaviour and global account management

Measures:

--Introduction to new clientele the opportunities offered by the CHEP Services and quantification of customer benefits

-Key account management processes for identified and agreed key customers

-Active lead of pilot and trials at customers, and the introduction of CHEP services to new   customers.  Ensure CHEP service is always successful.

-Resolving CHEP issues at own key account

-Collection from own accounts

-Using agreed CHEP processes and standard tools in managing sales and customer's issues

-Establish CHEP as the preferred service provider of returnable and re-useable packaging solutions in the market

-Forecasting sales for budget and planning

-Collect market intelligence of competitive products and competitors that may be a threat to CHEP

-Representing CHEP at seminars and industry functions to promote CHEP solutions

-Reporting sales pipeline

Scope : Annual Revenue Budget: 1 M USD

Authority/ Decision Making :

  • Representing CHEP at seminars and industry functions to promote CHEP solutions

  • Resolving CHEP issues at own key account

       -     Assessing and understanding the relevant markets/segments; and converting the knowledge to viable business plans

    Challenges :

  • Major wins

  • Keep the budget numbers achieved always

    Qualifications :

Education: Degree in engineering preferable or a Degree in Sales, Marketing or business Management - MBA  - An added advantage

Experience :

  • 5 – 8 yrs in sales and marketing, with a preference for Automotive industry experience

  • Achieved sales growth at major customers

  • Experience in a pioneering business (D)

  • Value selling / concept selling could be an added advantage

    Skills and Knowledge :

Must be Analytical, excellent listener, attention to detail, relationship builder, team player, excellent communicator, versatile

Should have knowledge of M/soft  Office programs (M) Seibel and SAP (M)
