About the Director, Business Development Role
This role will identify and prospect for new clients on the West Coast and secure these new business opportunities. Using industry knowledge, the Director will source suitable potential clients, establish and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders, write and deliver client proposals and identify long term sales projects that align with the clients' strategic goals.

You know how to generate excitement, enthusiasm and possibility in all of your client conversations. Your passion is evidenced in high-energy and an ongoing desire to succeed. You operate with rigor, discipline and self-motivation. Y ou are driven, focused and always take ownership of your work. When it comes to connecting with potential clients via cold outreach you wrote the book. You are highly skilled when it comes to researching clients and identifying problems to be solved. You are well connected with an expansive network in Medical Communications, Medical Affairs, Medical Education and Healthcare sectors.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Drive new revenue by securing Fortune 1000 clients (focus on Fortune 500)
  • Develop territory plan and outreach strategy
  • Develop and manage a consistent opportunity pipeline of qualified prospects
  • Provide strong leadership in the development of pitches and proposals
  • Full end to end sales process including identifying, qualifying and closing new business opportunities and partnerships. through a sales pipe
  • Strategically leverage relationships to expand business opportunity within a booked account
  • Focus on Go to Market Plan and Sales Strategy and execute key business development, sales and marketing initiatives
  • Deliver regular sales presentations and RFP responses to client request
  • Collaborate with creative and technical staff to develop strategic solutions to specific client needs
  • Attend trade shows and conferences to leverage networking opportunities, generate leads, and to understand competitors’ offerings and trends in the industry
  • Responsible for key account planning, business development opportunities and forecast decisions
  • Develop expertise within each emerging digital platform that INVIVO actively works with (mobile apps, e-detailing, medical animation, etc.)

Capability Requirements – education, skills & experience

  • University degree, bachelor’s in business or Science preferred
  • 5+ Proven business development expertise in both organic and new business
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets
  • 5+ years of practical experience with an agency focusing on digital media platforms
  • Ability to think strategically, have a strong understanding of digital marketing, tactics and strategies
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working remotely
  • Excellent written skills, particularly in relation to proposals and presentations
  • Well versed in delivering often-complex digital solutions and can speak knowledgeably about the approach
  • Excellent and proven track record of building and sustaining strong client relationships and managing a range of digital media projects to a successful conclusion for both client and agency
  • A comprehensive understanding of the healthcare industry and market, with a passion in following and identifying future developments and trends
