Business Development Manager
(Power Systems Division and Medium Voltage Assemblies) – Power Distribution
We are looking for Business
Development Manager in Eaton’s Corporate Division, based in
Mascot or Sydney, Australia.

Apply commercial and technical knowledge to sell Eaton’s
range of Power Systems & Services and Medium Voltage Assemblies to the
Victorian and Tasmanian market. To
promote Eaton’s offerings to targeted customers & ensure orders, sales
& margin targets are, at least, reached.
Your essential
+ Achieve orders, sales, price, margin and growth
+ Responsible for business development of new
products to existing customers and existing products to new customers
+ Ensure customers’ post sale expectations are
met. Includes contract & price
+ Cultivate strong target customer relationships, a
deep understanding of their business challenges and application needs
+ Understand Eaton’s broad range of products and
services and particularly their application in Australia
+ Identify industry trends including evolving
customer needs and competitors’ activities
+ Participate in targeted industry events including
conferences, seminars and trade functions including making presentations
+ Well respected and seen as a trusted-advisor in
target industries with ability to relate to people at all levels
+ Prepare compelling, winning offers
+ Plan, execute and provide management updates on
agreed strategy including regular customer visits
+ Provide Tier 1 technical support and get customers
access to higher level support when required
+ Collaborate closely with others within Eaton
including operations, finance, marketing, engineering, human resources,
services and management
+ Influence global product developments to include
ANZ requirements
+ Leverage channel partners for non-direct customers
+ Ensure all activities comply with legal and ethical
+ Comply with the company’s policies and procedures
+ Be aware of the company’s and your own obligations
under the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations as well as the company’s
documented Quality Management system

If you have:
+ Third level qualifications in a technical and\or
commercial discipline are desirable
+ At least 5 years’ experience in industrial B2B
sales with a track record of success selling medium voltage products
+ Strong high voltage electrical engineering skills
are required
+ Superior knowledge of sales practices, customers,
customer relations, personnel development, products, product applications and
+ Knowledge of medium voltage switchgear, voltage
regulators, transformer components, surge arresters, capacitors, fuse, molded
rubber products and energy automation solutions will be particularly well
+ A track record of planning and managing sales
resources to assure that adequate coverage is applied to major, new and
existing accounts
+ Understand major competitors’ tactics,
organisation, distribution strategy, and pricing while keeping management
informed of trends and changes
+ Great communication and collaboration skills. Ability to form effective external and
internal relationships
+ Ability to create win-win situation, drive value
creation through customer organization and resolve conflicts
+ Detailed knowledge of target industry segments
including utility, resources, industrial and infrastructure and access to key
decision makers including owners, consultants, contractors, EPCs
+ Advanced negotiation skills
+ Good business acumen and ability to position an
appropriate risk position for contract approval
