The Role

We are seeking a passionate candidate to join the strategy & business development team to drive the growth of NewsBreak. The primary function is to manage the end-to-end full deal cycle of partnership and strategic deals with publishers (in all categories, not just news), media organization, TV network, content providers, as well as other digital platforms (e.g., Google, Facebook, Apple, etc.). This is a critical leadership role for our upcoming high growth stage (pre-IPO) especially for driving the inorganic growth (content partnership and distribution). We provide highly competitive compensation package including base salary, bonuses, and stock options.


  • Identify, prospect and engage media publishers (digital, print, and TV networks) for partnership (content, distribution, or growth) with NewsBreak
  • Develop publisher relationships, lead deal teams, negotiate key terms and structure agreements to expand NewsBreak’s publisher base
  • Manage the end-to-end process of partnership deals
  • Partner with product & engineering to develop growth strategy and the execution plan for the strategy, driving the growth of users, revenue, and eventually the enterprise value
  • Attend trade shows, conferences and other events across the US for building and maintaining relationships
  • Maintain an active pipeline, prioritize leads and clearly communicate status to the rest of the company
  • Analyze business results, generate reports, and build sales presentations


  • 4+ years’ experience in digital/print/TV/entertainment publisher business development or enterprise sales required
  • Experience developing and managing a partnership or sales pipeline
  • Knowledge of and strong contacts in the digital publisher space
  • Proficiency in digital ad technology required
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results from deal initiation to close with minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills (Excel proficiency); ability to identify trends and use data to backup recommendations
  • Strong writing, presentation and negotiation skills
  • High-energy, driven, curious personality with proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • BA or equivalent required
  • Proficiency in Mandarin preferred, but not required
