BookMyShow is India’s largest Out Of Home Entertainment company providing services across movie ticketing, ticketing live events such as Plays, Sports, Concerts etc, producing Live IPs, bringing the best of international Live IPs and artists to India and building the infrastructure to expand OOH entertainment across India. We are currently looking for a Business Lead for our License Merchandise and eCommerce business

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing the business strategy for our eCommerce business. You will need to have strong managerial and team building skills, a strategic bent of mind, excellent commercial and negotiation skills, be digitally savvy, above all a strong sense of initiative and accountability for the success of this business

You will be the key custodian of building a fully rounded business team around operations, design, logistics, commercial, sourcing, marketing, content, distribution and channel management, and customer support.

You will need to understand the new age eco-system of data, digital and content and able to craft the newer disciplines seamlessly into the offering, requiring you to collaborate closely with Product and Technology to ensure the optimum customer experience across discovery, search, personalisation, assortment and price

In this role, your goals will be:


In three months:

  1. Establish a detailed GTM strategy – which would include identifying target market segments, product assortment including Licensed + Private label mix, supply chain & operations framework, channel distribution strategy, brand & product launch planning, competitive & growth marketing strategy - along with a roadmap for the next 12/24/36 months on brand / category introductions
  2. Get business plan and investments approved
  3. Finalize key roles needed to be staffed and initiate screening and hiring process
  4. Understand data and gather learnings from the BMS eCommerce V1.0 launch
  5. Initiate conversations with key licensing partners as well as other supply partners
  6. Finalize and get agreement on technology and product MVP specs

In six months:

  1. Close out key hires across Design, Sourcing, Operations/ Logistics, Product and Technology
  2. Build strong credibility across the organisation and partner ecosystem for our strategy and capabilities
  3. Demonstrated the ability to build and coach a high performing team, helping them improve their strategic thinking skills and capabilities as well as their digital, data and content knowledge
  4. Set up partner and sourcing network, across both 3rd party licenses & private labels, including well established national & global entertainment brands
  5. Soft launch V2.0 on the BMS Platform as well as initiate offline points of sale as and when physical events and concerts begin
  6. On board a full assortment of products across categories/ franchises/ formats/ price points including both inventory led as well as market place led

In 12 months:

  1. Proven Product Market fit across business formats and revenue run rate to cross Rs 5 Cr/ month
  2. Established business model with positive unit economics
  3. Demonstrated the ability to develop and diversify across formats and categories and translate them into viable commercial opportunities
  4. Set the foundation for building a multi 100 Cr business within 3 years

Minimum qualifications:

  1. 12-15 years of total work experience, with minimum 4-5 years as a buyer/ merchandiser across apparel/ toys/ accessories categories.
  2. 4-5 years in a strategic planning / business leadership role along with clear revenue/ P&L responsibilities.
  3. Direct eCommerce apparel experience will be a definitive added advantage
