General Description

The Operations Governance department is responsible for managing financial, operational and regulatory matters for the Operations Division.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead all audits, examinations, SOX processes and regulatory efforts for the Operations Division, including PR and PB.

  • Proficient in the interpretation and understanding of rules, regulations and procedures impacting operational processes.

  • Establish strategies and provide guidance to management in the execution of approximately 40 yearly audits, which are oversighted in the department.

  • Provide advice to management in the design and implementation of corrective action plans.

  • Represent department’s management in meetings discussing the results of exams, audits, walkthrough, internal controls testing, among others. This requires selected candidate to have the necessary knowledge and ability to make decisions related to the applicability of the regulation in the Division’s processes.

  • Identify potential risks and situations to disclose as part of SOX or any other applicable regulation. In addition to timely identification of potential risks, required to perform an in-depth analysis of the events, assess potential financial impact, fraud risk, and potential penalties. Lead the presentation of in-depth analysis results, with a proposed action plan to address situations and prevent future recurrence.

  • Ensure management statistics regarding audits and examinations are updated.

  • Identify and address continuous improvement opportunities in the processes managed in the department.

  • Lead communications with cross functional teams and proactively manage roadblocks.

  • Expertise and experience to lead strategic projects that may arise within the Division or in collaboration with other Divisions.

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance

Experience

At least three (3) years of related experience in auditing, must be experienced in Sarbanes-Oxley, financial reporting and the accounting cycle.

Certifications/ Licenses

Preferred CPA with experience auditing processes, certified internal auditor or certified on internal controls.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's)

  • Must be fully bilingual

  • Excellent communication skills verbal and written in English and Spanish.

  • Excellent leadership skills.

  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet established deadlines.

  • Process improvements mindset.

  • Proficient in the use of SAP system.

  • Proficient in the use of MS Office: Excel (macros), Power BI, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
