We are currently seeking a Business Partner Specialist Advisor to join our team in Burnaby, British Columbia (CA-BC), Canada (CA).
Responsible for developing and implementing employee relations strategies to create and maintain an environment that delivers desired business results and supports employee engagement. Influences all levels of the organization to effectively handle and manage all volatile conflict situation that have high organizational impact. Involved in the planning, development, implementation and administration of employee relations policy and procedures Audit the organization to identify employee relations issues or concerns and recommends appropriate actions to address and resolve those issues responds to employee inquiries questions and complaints provides information guidance and direction on HR programs processes and procedures to employees and managers, Tracks and compiles issue log and complaints provides feedback to HR policy and programs, to area specialists and management.
Interpret and advise on CBA specializing in Benefit and Talent Acquisition
Perform all facets of their role, with a good understanding of Union environment
Advise and manage employee population on Policy and process with focus on STD, LTD and STIIP management
Proactively counsels’ managers for optimal performance and resolution of employee relations issues
Provides guidance to managers in handling difficult or complex employee relations issues and resolving complaints or disputes such as advising managers on appropriate disciplinary actions and procedures to ensure consistency and providing risk assessments for terminations.
Coaches local HR and leadership in employee relations trends issues and techniques to promote positive employee relations and engagement. POC for step one of grievance procedure.
Administers and manage programs designed to establish and maintain effective employee relations through the uniform and equitable application of policies and procedures.
Handles and solves escalated team member and client inquires
Coordinates appropriate employee termination procedures including assisting with termination meetings.
Resolves conflicts by investigating circumstances conducting interviews exploring optional solutions creating change conducting conflict resolutions and team building sessions
May be responsible for both single country and regional responsibilities.
Active member of various HR committees and regular meetings
Advanced knowledge of principles and practices related to talent Acquisition as it applies to the union environment and application of the CBA
Strong Knowledge of HRIS software and spread sheet applications
Strong project and organizational skills
Guide and administer the talent acquisition process, advising and couching managers and employees.
Strong relationship skills where Union engagement is required
Experience 5 years relevant HR experience
Must have a college degree from accredited college
Must have HR certification
Must have Certification of Canadian Citizenship
4 Years’ experience working with Unions
Advanced understanding of HR policies, practices, and administrative guidelines
Excellent client service skills, including ability handle issues in a timely and professional manner
Advanced knowledge of employee relations practices and procedures
