Job Description

Business Operations & Strategy Manager is a supporting role within the product operations portfolio with a clear focus & remit on providing the quantitative evidence and analysis to ensure the business strategy and operation is performing optimally. The role will be accountable for developing and maintaining financial and operational models that track and report on the Metrics that Matter to our operation, including revenue, payment volume, transactions, companies, users, and more. There will also be a heavy focus on understanding and reporting on the level of investment we are making into different types of work our Technology teams are performing. The role will also be pivotal with maintaining a single view of the delivery roadmap and capacity planning.

This role would be ideal for a candidate with a finance and data analysis background looking to improve their commercial acumen and executive presentation skillset.

Accountabilities:

Commercial Strategy

  • Work with the Senior Director of Business Strategy & Operations to support the development and execution of the functional strategy by providing analytical support

  • Create replicable analysis of regional landscape, issuer payment volumes and product penetration as input to strategy to maximize revenue whilst staying aligned to product strategy

  • Create and maintain product-level P&Ls for SCE & SCB, as well as other products that are within the Spend Management Portfolio

  • Interface with sales management to maintain a current view of opportunities and pipeline

  • Be a key contributor to the AOP (annual Operating Plan) and MSO (multi-year strategic outlook) processes in concert with BPO and Finance

  • Track and maintain the category of work investment profile of our Technology teams

Product Performance

  • Track performance of operational objectives & workplans to achieve annual goals

  • Develop replicable reporting to track and understand Product performance via Payment volumes, issuer activation, company numbers and active users, exploring areas for automation

  • Track and report on SCE & SCB head count, vacancy, and hiring to ensure development velocity is maintained and key deliverables are met.

  • Work with Product Managers and Technology Leads to maintain backlog, delivery roadmap, and capacity plan

  • Work with the Data Science team to leverage and enhance existing Power BI dashboards to automate reporting and distribution of product performance

  • Lead interaction with Finance business partners on revenue tracking and understand of performance vs budget across Spend Clarity Enterprise and White labels

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Leverage data analysis to inform Product Leadership team on commercial performance and strategy execution

  • Work collaboratively with key business partners such as Finance, HR, Legal and Risk

  • Interface with key Visa teams as required such as Sales, Account Executives, Commercialization, Regional Product groups, and Customer Support & Implementation

  • Assist in the maintenance of Pricing and commercial documentation for easy consumption by regional teams

Executive Reporting

  • Create professional presentations and collateral to support exec communications in line with Visa standards

  • Assist the Direct of Product Operations with development of relevant executive reporting to cover product group activities

  • Develop and maintain senior product leader finance reporting, including P&L and CAPEX tracking and reporting

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

• 9+ years’ experience in strategic finance and/or commercial roles
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management/Administration/Analytics, Finance, Commerce (or similar academic experience)
• Experience in strategy, planning and business case development
• Strong analytical/analysis and project management/planning skills
• Understanding of GAAP is applied in a software development environment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, to lead, influence others and set direction
• Ability to contribute new ideas and find solutions to business challenges while delivering top-quality customer service
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft O365 applications including PowerPoint, Excel and Word
• Experience in Fintech, cards, payments, and/or corporate accounting practices is preferred.
• Ability to work in a highly collaborative fashion with internal stakeholders to drive successful product outcomes
