Cashier

Proper cash management and providing satisfaction to the customers at the time of billing on cash counter by providing courteous billing.

Key Responsibility Areas

• Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits.
• Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.
• Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of the shift to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change.
• Greet customers who are entering the Store.
• The cash counter should be maintained clean and orderly at all times.
• Identify prices of goods and tabulate bills using optical price scanners.
• Resolve customer complaints.
• Answer customers' questions, and provide information on products.
• Check the currency notes given by the customers.
• Calculate total payments received during a time period, and reconcile this with total sales.
• Keep periodic balance sheets of amounts and numbers of transactions.
• Bag, box, wrap, or gift-wrap merchandise, and prepare packages for shipment.
• Sort, count, and wrap currency notes and coins.
• Process merchandise returns and exchanges.
• Pay company bills by cash.
• Stock shelves, and mark prices on shelves and items.
• Compile and maintain non-monetary reports and records.
• Offer customers carry-out service at the completion of transactions.

Job Specification:

• Must be a pleasing personality with having the quality of answering the queries of customers with a smiling face.
• He/ she must be perfect in billing/ handling cash and perform all the necessary activities during the cashiering.
• Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
• Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
• Good knowledge of excel, speed in billing.
• Excellent communication skill
• Listening the problems of the customers and try to pacify them on cash counter.
• Ability to stand for an extended period of time
• Move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting and perform all functions.
