ACFS Port Logistics is the largest privately owned Container Logistics operator in Australia and have established themselves in Australia as a market leader in transport and warehousing logistics.

We are currently seeking an experienced Distribution Centre Manager for our Derrimut operation. This position reports directly to the National Operations Manager

Requirements

Your responsibilities will include;

  • Manage and lead the warehouse team, effective including staff rosters, performance management, and morale and workplace safety.
  • Understand and positively influence the site P&L by proactively managing revenue and outgoing
  • Design, implement and manage accurate WHS reporting tools to include, but not limited to, Accidents, Hazards and Incident’s
  • Implement and maintain 5s methodology for the facilities falling under your responsibility
  • Ensure freight collection and service delivery exceeds customer expectations
  • Act as the key liaison between Warehouse Operations, Customer Service and Transport functions
  • Accurately manage all customer inventory maximising warehouse capacity and utilisation
  • Work closely with carriers to ensure all deliveries meet agreed contractual SLA’s in relation to DIFOT
  • Maximise revenue opportunities by ensuring all 3PL services are accurately charged & revenue leakage is minimised.
  • Minimise all variable operating costs to keep below the percentages outlined in the site budget.
  • Ensure the facility is operated, maintained and secured in accordance with ACFS service standards and operating policies and procedures.

To be successful in this role we are looking for the following skills and experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Warehouse Manager or equivalent at a senior level is essential
  • Ability to understand a site P&L
  • Extensive warehouse / logistics knowledge and experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Sound technical knowledge and experience in warehouse planning
  • Experience in leading and supervising personnel
  • Computer competency including MS Office applications (Excel/Word)
  • Knowledge of OHS&E requirements and obligations
  • Good Customer service skills with an ability to build rapport
