About the opportunity 

Our current workload within the Roads and Highways Engineering business has grown significantly and we are looking to recruit a Civil Engineer to join our Newcastle team. You will exercise sound judgement and initiative while undertaking both your project responsibilities and design tasks.

You will be expected to work collaboratively with other members of the roads/highways engineering sections, providing inputs to project works and tender bids.  Project delivery varies between design only, design and construct and alliance models.


About you

You should have a Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline, coupled with a vast amount of experience in the planning, design and construction of road infrastructure.

In addition, the ideal candidate should have:
  • Results/outcomes focused
  • Design experience in roads/highways
  • Knowledge and understanding of RMS and Austroads Standards and accepted practices or an equivalent road agency
  • A team player who is able to work within a team
  • The ability to multi-task and deliver timely results
  • High work ethic
  • Good communication (written and oral) and presentation skills
  • Well-developed computer skills
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
