Collections Officers – Start 14 January 2019

National Collections Unit – based in Christchurch

Permanent, Full Time (37.55 hours per week)

About the role

We have an opportunity for you to join our challenging and interesting work environment. The National Collections Unit is part of the Ministry of Social Development and is responsible for managing the recovery of debt owed to the Crown, following benefit cancellation or student allowance debt establishment.

On any given day you will contact clients by phone to negotiate sustainable and affordable recovery arrangements. You will also complete general task processing, location searches via various databases and liaise with third parties. 

The contracted hours for this role are 37 hours and 55 minutes per week worked between 6.55am and 9.00pm Monday to Friday. The current operational hours for this position are 9.00am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.  

The start date for this position is Monday 14 January 2019.

You are professional, energetic and able to communicate well with clients over the phone while providing great customer service. You thrive on achieving outcomes and easily navigate your way through computer systems. Flexible and adaptable, you enjoy being a team player and taking ownership of your work.
