Commercial Finance Analyst

The Finance department at Otter Products is seeking a Commercial Finance Analyst to join our team. Our mission as stewards of Otter’s resources, assets and financial plans facilitates our day to day responsibilities of providing accurate and timely financial information to the relevant internal departments and outside sources. We rely on key data, financial models, and business partner relationships to analyze the story behind the numbers, offer valuable insights, recommend solutions, provide financial education, and influence better decision-making.

Initially, the Commercial Finance Analyst will directly support the Sales Team at Otter Products by building and monitoring forecast plans for all distribution channels. This includes annual and quarterly forecasting and budgeting of revenue and sales supported expenditure. Through considerable interaction with Sales, Demand Planning and Product Roadmap owners, this position will lead the analysis of the business’ financial performance. The Analyst will provide key insights to drive strategy and decision-making across the company and recommend solutions through financial modeling and scenario planning. They will have ownership of the Company Rebate Program and product pricing modeling and responsible for driving efficiencies in various financial planning processes, through automation where possible. The Commercial Finance Analyst will align with the Finance Director to ensure that all financial plans support the annual strategic goals of the company.

This Otter will demonstrate a thorough understanding of financial modeling, margins and operational expenses and product/project profitability through strong analytical skills, teamwork, innovation, and efficiency. Strong candidates will also possess excellent people skills, well developed presentation skills, practical accounting knowledge, and financial forecasting ability. • Prepare and maintain product price files. Calculate pricing for new product launches and customer specific price lists and identifying process efficiencies and enhancing where required
• Lead and enhance the company Rebate Program, including achievement tracking, forecasting, processing of monthly claims and creating continuous improvements in the program
• Manage and enhance the reporting of various pricing initiatives and promotions along with approval process and align with sales team to analyse performance/ROI
• Develop accurate and flexible financial budgeting/forecasting models for revenue and sales supported expenditure and work with regional sales in response to provide data for target setting
• Analyze channel partner contracts and pricing models to ensure profitability goals are met
• Support the Commercial Finance Lead on ad-hoc and strategic project as and when require
• Analyze product mix and margin and make recommendations to management for achieving goals
• Support month end accrual calculations on sales supported expenditure
• Drive the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives through continually optimising technology utilization and identifying process refinement
• Support quarterly target setting and reporting on achievement to target, including advising on ad-hoc sales incentives
• Ad hoc reporting
• Other duties as required

• Accounting / Mathematics degree (or equivalent) required; professional accounting body qualification is desirable but not essential
• 3-4 years’ industry experience is essential, with experience within a FMCG sales organisation highly advantageous
• Consumer product pricing experience is essential
• Management of rebate programmes is necessary
• Experience with business planning tools / ERP systems (SAP/Oracle etc.) is required
• Expertise in advanced financial forecasting and modeling
• Experience partnering with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals
• Experience of management of multiple projects with the ability to prioritise and shift duties to meet critical project deadlines
• Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines
• Proficient Microsoft Office Excel® skills are essential, SQL experience would be advantageous
• Excellent analytical skills and strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
