Associate Commercial Finance Manager

We are currently looking for an Associate Commercial Finance Manager responsible for accurate planning and budgeting of sales and margin whilst closely collaborating with the commercial teams. In this role you are responsible for the analysis and the explanation of the monthly results versus the budget. These findings are then presented in various business meetings like the Management Team meeting or the Business Planning meeting wherein proactive recommendations are shared for key business decisions. Furthermore, you will lead the monthly close process for the P&L areas within your scope and ensure accurate booking of customer investments.

This is a visible role wherein participation and contribution to various cross functional teams within the organization is encouraged. Success in this role means to actively contribute to growth and improvement of the business while also building the financial acumen of the commercial team.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities

• Accurate and timely preparation of Budget/Latest Estimate up to the gross margin level, thorough analysis of the customer/product/brand mix, highlighting opportunities and risks and preparing the budget deck to be shared with our EMEA headquarters
• Ensuring consistent and reliable monthly reporting to the management team and providing gap analysis versus Budget/LE and presenting the numbers in the monthly management meeting
• Preparing and presenting all business analyses for the monthly business planning meeting and providing adequate financial guidance to the commercial team
• Sharing insights on promotional ROI’s, customer investments and product/brand/customer margins in order to increase financial knowledge of the commercial team ensuring informed business decisions
• Tracking and analyzing of various commercial initiatives such as promotions, year-end bonuses, etc… and correctly capturing this in the monthly close
• Providing guidance and coaching to the commercial accountant and sales analyst concerning Commercial Finance

Profile

• A Bachelor or University degree
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience as Business Controller/ Commercial Controller with a focus on sales analyses, budget preparation and management reporting
• Experience in other financial positions s.a. accounting is a plus
• Bilingual: Dutch and English absolute must
• Proficient skills in Excel and BI; SAP is a plus
• A true business partner to the commercial functions due to overall business understanding & perspective.
• Capable of delivering high quality and accurate work while respecting short lead times due to strong planning & priority setting
• Ownership & initiative to drive and ensure optimal business tracking & understanding throughout the company
• Independent with a keen eye on optimization of current reporting
• A great teamplayer providing guidance and coaching to the team members
