The Red Hat People (HR) team is looking for a Compensation Consultant based in Brazil, Argentina or Mexico to join us in supporting management across Red Hat in the LATAM region. In this role, you will work in an exciting, fast-paced environment focused on growth, enabling our company to make the right choices in rewarding associates. As part of a global compensation team, you will report to the manager of compensation in the U.S., while partnering closely with HR managers, business partners, and our Talent Acquisition team in consulting the business. You’ll work with senior business leaders to address current challenges and to proactively shape our compensation philosophy. As a Compensation Consultant, you’ll be a key person in enabling our growth by consulting and offering feedback on compensation programs that fit into our total rewards philosophy for base salary, short-term and long-term incentive plans, compensation communication and training, and compensation technologies and tools.

  • Work with the global compensation team, members of the HR team, and key business contacts in a team-based consulting model to solve issues and translate Red Hat’s compensation philosophy into an actionable strategy for the LATAM region

  • Serve as a compensation program subject matter expert; be a trusted adviser to management and HR team members and help guide local enablement on compensation-related matters

  • Use compensation data, market analyses, business strategies, and talent review data to develop and implement compensation recommendations for management and other crucial roles

  • Monitor and analyze local competitive compensation data to determine if adjustments to Red Hat’s salary structure, pay practices, or compensation guidelines are needed

  • Conduct job evaluations and compensation recommendations for positions of all levels

  • Develop special retention and incentive plans based on business needs in coordination with your global compensation team partners

  • Support equity and long-term incentive planning, salary reviews, sales plans, and bonus planning processes

  • Coach managers and HR associates on recommended distribution of available budget considering associate performance and our position within the market

  • 3+ years of experience working in compensation consulting and administration with proven experience partnering with senior-level management and stakeholders in a complex global business environment, preferably in the high-technology industry

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in order to become an accomplished go-to expert on global compensation programs for the LATAM region

  • Motivated with articulate and refined communications skills

  • Comfortable speaking and listening and able to build relationships with senior stakeholders

  • Creative thinker, who strives to understand and unravel multidimensional problems and is experienced in delivering global programs at scale in the LATAM region while maintaining close alignment to key customer metrics like attrition

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, psychology, or analytical fields like mathematics, science, or finance; Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) qualification is a big plus

  • Advanced spreadsheet and data presentation skills, including the ability to apply and use functions like lookups, pivot tables, and mathematical formulas

  • Training in coaching, communications, public speaking, or similar is a plus
