Job Description

Reporting to the Compliance Officer, the Compliance Analyst role is both externally and internally facing. Internally, they form part of the glue that holds different functional groups within Coinfloor together. Externally, Compliance Analysts are a primary point of contact with our clients and partners. They will be responsible for documenting and reviewing internal processes, managing due diligence and Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures and payment systems.


Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Verify customer documentation and guide them through the onboarding process (incl. contact with clients)
    • detailed inspection of documents to eliminate fraud
    • dealing with unusual customer scenarios
    • increasing conversion rate
  • Verify corporate applications:
    • incorporation documentation
    • corporate structure and policies
    • verify compliance levels
    • nature of business activity
    • and summarise applications (incl. contact with users)
  • Conduct in depth investigations on users and their activity
  • Investigate and review transactions that have exceeded set thresholds
  • Monitor transactions and KYC applications for unusual activity, investigate and create reports of suspicious activity and usage patterns
  • Run retrospective data inspections to eliminate inconsistencies between parallel records and make sure all held data is correct and complete.
  • Update and create process documentation
  • Follow processes in detail and keep a well documented record of exceptions and authorisations
  • Adhere to high confidentiality and security rules and policies
  • Create feature requests and optimisation suggestions for systems used
  • Mentor, coach and train other members of the team once proficient in its processes

Key Skills:

  • At least 6 months AML and Sanctions experience in a financial institution (desirable)
  • Experience with Bitcoin or Payments (preferred)
  • Ability to drive projects forward, proactive and motivated to succeed
  • Strong analytical background, ability to think practically and proactively propose solutions
  • Detail oriented (i.e. has a high attention to detail and great visual memory)
  • Able to work in small, multidisciplinary environments effectively
  • Team player in a very fast moving environment


  • Bachelor’s degree (desirable)
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in Excel
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
  • Be able to coordinate with other departments
  • Excellent project, planning, change and time management capabilities
  • Strong background and work experience in Finance (desirable)
  • Open to direction and a collaborative work style
  • Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the organization
  • Persuasive with details and facts
  • High comfort level working in a diverse environment
