Department Description

We are searching for an individual that is passionate and driven to assume the role of a Accounting Manager to base in Penang share service center support APAC countries. The role encompasses this person to bring about transformation in its own field by leading, driving and providing professional approach for implementing Accounting, Audit and Tax Compliance procedures within Motorola Solutions.

Job Description

  • Manage a team of Accountants for Compliance activities and accountable for overall Compliance activities in Motorola Solutions including Internal Reporting, SOX, US GAAP,  Local Statutory Audit, US/Local Direct Tax reporting and Local Indirect taxes -from reporting to payment submission.
  • Be regional first point of contact for end to end compliance activities.
  • Support the internal teams by performing analysis (e.g Transfer Price Analysis, BS/ & Cash Flow forecast & CbCr etc) of the operating and business performance for the countries.
  • Support external Survey and assessment by local authorities (e.g Central Bank, Transfer Price Documentation, Tax Assessment & etc).
  • Support on monthly closing activities and identify and drive process improvements to align regional processes.
  • Identify and highlighting any potential risks and issues from Finance Compliance perspective.
  • Responsible for timely monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliation by ensuring documentation are in compliance with Motorola Solutions’ Accounting Policies and procedures.
  • Responsible to review yearly for all APAC Balance Sheet Reconciliation and organise quarterly review with Corp US and regional business controller.
  • Liaise with Secretarial Office, Lawyers, External Auditors ensure Motorola Solution local entities keep abreast with latest regulations changes.
  • Explore and analyze new accounting standards and determine the impact on the Local Entities.
  • Establish strong internal operational environment through process improvements and projects.
  • Oversee talent development and constantly provide guidance, feedback and reinforcement to team regarding development needs and opportunities and secure resources to support development efforts
  • Develop succession plan and support individual team training and personal development plan
  • Any other ad-hoc duties

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Finance or Accounting with at least 6 years of professional accounting experience and 2 years in a managerial position. Experience in Big 4 accounting firm is preferred.
  • Strong technical skills in International Financial Reporting Standards, audit and internal controls.
  • Direct and indirect tax skills would be an added advantage.
  • Must be a self-starter who is able to manage team dynamics and interface with all relevant internal teams and external business partners is needed
  • Strong analytical, comprehension and problem solving skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to conceptualize
  • Attention to detail, ability to manage time and work flow, work on multiple assignments and manage rapidly changing assignments in a team environment
  • Excellent English both written and spoken.
