We’re looking to recruit an EHS specialist subject matter support to the Regional Business Unit (Ireland, Spain, Italy) for all aspects of EHS Compliance, with an approximate balance of 70% Supply Chain and 30% non-Supply Chain (Offices, Field Operations). As such the job holder is predominantly based in the Franciscan Well brewery as a member of the Supply Chain team but will have a requirement to be mobile (40%) to ensure appropriate support is available in other RBU locations.
Ensures the RBU EHS management system is effective in controlling of EHS risks and meets the Business Unit expectations in enabling reduced rates of incidents, injuries and environmental upsets. Applies Business Unit standards and uses data from self-assessments and audits to identify EHS non-conformances, gaps and opportunities. Helps the team to identify potential improvement initiatives to implement corrective and preventive measures in a timely fashion.
Supports the RBU to ensure compliance with all EHS regulatory requirements and highlights any areas of potential concern to leadership. Supports the RBU with any interactions with regulatory agencies and coaches team on existing and new requirements and any gap closure actions required.
Works with the operational teams to build their capability to 'own' (i.e. identify, assess, manage and control) their EHS risks. Able to deliver EHS training, coaching and support across the various operational settings, to leadership, management and front-line staff as required within the RBU. Ensures the appropriate measures are employed in all Operational activities and Capital work requirements.
Supports teams to perform thorough investigations into EHS incidents. Coaches teams to identify immediate, underlying and root causes of incidents and the develop and implement timely corrective actions.
Coordinates EHS reporting on behalf of the RBU to provide input into monthly scorecards. Uses data on EHS performance to build action and improvement plans. Actively measures performance and reinforces Company and Regulatory standards through audits.
Certificate / Diploma in Health & Safety, Environmental Science/Studies or Engineering. Working towards achieving any locally recognised EHS professional qualification (as per BU / Country specifics).
Considerable EHS experience and good knowledge of assessing and controlling EHS risks in a manufacturing environment. Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and ability to build strong working relationships.
