Job Description

The Manager – IT4IT/Technology Operations practice will help the practice lead (PL) in managing the relationships with MD’s and Partner’s for the Acceleration Center’s growth, strategic agenda, delivery of projects, staff engagement, capacity planning/management. S/he will build a culture of continuous improvement and will work closely with the business leaders and executive leadership team.

As a Systems Modernization Architect, you will develop strategies to modernize mainframe or any other legacy applications and data, whether they remain on the mainframe or move to the cloud or a hybrid IT environment. You will have the chance to impact clients of various sizes, guiding them through their journey to a modern cloud-connected mainframe or to public and private cloud infrastructures. You will engage with potential and current clients and support their mainframe or legacy systems modernization initiatives, helping to define strategic objectives, transformation plans, potential solutions, and project timelines. This may include refactor of applications and data from outdated programming languages and models to contemporary languages and structures. This includes, but is not limited to, converting COBOL to Java or C#, and migrating legacy databases to modern platforms such as AWS RDS, Aurora, Azure SQL, or IBM DB2.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.

  • More than 8 years of experience in services or consulting for mainframe or legacy systems modernization efforts including architecture, design, and implementation

  • Experience with mainframe modernization tools and strategies, including refactoring and rehosting.

  • Experience with complete or partial offloading of mainframe / legacy system capabilities and functions to modern solution

  • Proficiency with modern solutions including Cloud Architecture on Azure, AWS and GCP, API enablement, DevOps, Containerization etc.

  • Knowledge of mainframe technologies, including IBM z/OS, CICS, IMS, DB2, COBOL, JCL, and VSAM.

  • Knowledge of mainframe hardware architecture, storage systems, file systems, networking, and virtualization technologies.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Understand the importance of have a correct information management

  • Knowledge of Information Security and Data Protection
